NFL Week 7 picks

Is it seriously Week 7 already? Wow, this season is seriously flying by. If only the NHL season would do the same. Or, if only the NBA could work out their differences and end this ridiculous lockout bickering.

The lines are from 5Dimes and the home teams are in CAPS.

Chicago (pick) over TAMPA BAY
I’m still not certain that the Bucs are any good. They beat the Saints last week, but New Orleans stunk after losing their head coach to a broken leg and MCL tear.

CAROLINA -1 over Washington
I believe a lot more in Cam Newton at home than John Beck on the road.

San Diego -1 over NEW YORK JETS
I’m sceptical about the Chargers flying to the east coast and being favoured, but they’re still much better than the Jets.

Seattle -2.5 over CLEVELAND
Who would have thought getting rid of former “sure thing” No. 4 overall pick Aaron Curry would improve the Seahawks defence?

TENNESSEE -3 over Houston
The Texans haven’t looked so hot since being bitten by the injury bug. The Titans should be well-rested coming off the bye.

Denver (pick) over MIAMI
I believe in Tim Tebow.

Atlanta +3.5 over DETROIT
The Lions essentially losing their running game makes them tough to bet on.

Kansas City +7 over OAKLAND
Can Carson Palmer go from retired to winning starting quarterback in less than a week? Doubtful.

Pittsburgh -3.5 over ARIZONA
This almost seems like a trap since the Steelers are banged up, but come on, the Cardinals?

St. Louis +14.5 over DALLAS
Can you really count on the Cowboys to cover? Even against a top-five bad team? I’m saying this and I’m a Cowboys fan too.

Green Bay -10 over MINNESOTA
I’m sure Christian Ponder is looking forward to his second start because who would be happy to get crushed in their debut.

NEW ORLEANS -15.5 over Indianapolis
I’m actually surprised that the Colts didn’t try to shop Reggie Wayne. They should be all in on the Suck for Luck campaign.

JACKSONVILLE +9 over Baltimore
I can’t see a big home dog on Monday Night getting blown out.

Last week: 5-7-1
This season: 35-37-2
