NFL predictions and a pick

As a Cowboys fan, I have not been looking forward to this game.

Sure, it’s the season opener and the team vastly improved its weakest part by signing Brandon Carr and drafting Morris Claiborne to play CB. The offence looks like a handful as per usual and DeMarco Murray is healthy.

But tonight, the ‘Boys will be attempting to become the first team to ever beat the defending Super Bowl champions in a week night opener.

Emotions are always high as the champs receive their rings and the crowd absolutely eat it up. Even though Metlife Stadium destroys atmosphere, the fans will have a say in this one.

First of all, it’s ridiculous to move a game to a Wednesday because U.S. President Obama is making some sort of speech, but as a Canadian I don’t really have a horse in that race.

The Giants may have lost Brandon Jacobs and Mario Manningham, but it’s not like they didn’t have suitable replacements lined up. Ahmad Bradshaw was already the starting running back and Manningham — while he was a Super Bowl hero — was just the fourth-best receiver on the team.

While the Cowboys are usually good plays as underdogs, the Giants have covered the spread five out of the past six times these teams met.
