Picks for NFL Week 9

by Dan Bilicki In: Football, Picks

The lines are from 5Dimes and the home teams are in CAPS

Denver -3.5 over CINCINNATI

Peyton Manning is really humming; enough that you have to be scared to bet against him right now.

GREEN BAY -12.5 over Arizona

Last week the Packers were favoured big and didn’t cover, but I have more faith in them against the stuttering Cardinals.

INDIANAPOLIS +1.5 over Miami

You have to be worried that Ryan Tannehill is banged up. Plus, how are the Colts are home ’dog?

CLEVELAND +3.5 over Baltimore

The Browns played the Ravens close in Baltimore, where the Ravens usually dominate.

HOUSTON -12 over Buffalo

The poor Bills are headed for a massive blowout on the road.

Carolina +3.5 over WASHINGTON

Cam Newton will take it to the Redskins defence in a shootout against RG3.

Detroit -3.5 over JACKSONVILLE

Are the Lions starting to pull it together? I’d bet on it against the Jags without MJD.

Chicago -3.5 over TENNESSEE

Da Bears got lucky last week thanks to that Cam Newton pick, but won’t need much luck to beat the Titans.

Minnesota +5 over SEATTLE

You have to love the Seahawks’ home-field advantage, but the Vikes can keep it within five points.

OAKLAND (pick) over Tampa Bay

Are the Bucs three points better on the road than the Raiders at home? I don’t think so.

New York Giants -3 over PITTSBURGH

There’s something about flying in from Pittsburgh just hours before the game that makes me think the Steelers could be in trouble for this one.

ATLANTA -4 over Dallas

Am I crazy for thinking the Cowboys will somehow win this game, ending the Falcons’ perfect season? Yes, probably. Matt Ryan’s dynamite at home.

NEW ORLEANS -3 over Philadelphia

This is a must-win game for both teams but I’d rather take the points and Michael Vick with his back against the wall on the road.

This week: 0-1
Last week: 5-9
This season: 51-64-5
