In move of startling logic, the Oakland Raiders have come to a deal with former all-pro quarterback, Daunte Culpepper. This is just one of those moves that makes too much sense after the Raiders drafted JaMarcus Russell with the first overall pick this year. Russell and Culpepper play fairly similar styles, well, maybe Daunte played that type of style when he didn’t have a wrecked knee and his inability to read plays wasn’t completely exposed. But, on paper, it looks like a good move for the sad-sack Raiders.
Also, it makes even more sense because now the Raiders have a big-name (but still lousy) QB to go into the pre-season with if JaMarcus doesn’t sign a contract soon. And that contract should’ve been something that Oakland management taken care of a long time ago.
