It was no surprise here at RunningThePoint that the Lakers went down to San Antonio in Game 3. Especially when Manu put on a show like he did. In case you haven’t realized, the Spurs will live and die off of Ginobili’s performance for this series and perhaps the rest of the playoffs, pending who they would potentially face in the finals.
While Tim Duncan is always going to get his numbers and Tony Parker will war with the experienced Derek Fisher, having Ginobili out there, playing a lot against Sasha Vujacic, who is a good defender but isn’t close to being able to fend off hise advances.
So as Manu goes, the Spurs will go. If he puts up 30 again tonight, the Spurs will likely take the game. If he can’t get to the basket or hit his shots over the pesky Serb, the Lakers can take it on the road and look to lock up the series at home.
The San Antonio Spurs are my favorite team. This season was pretty rough but at least they beat Dallas! Looking forward to another season .
