It really is playoff season now, with the NHL dropping the puck for the opening games of some series – with a few nice upsets already – and the NBA closing out their regular season schedule with some playoff implications on the line.
One of those implications was who would get the right to be swept by LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. That lucky team, who gets an extra two games worth of ticket sales, is the Chicago Bulls.
That’s what you get, Toronto Raptors. Whenever you leave your fate in the hands of other teams, you’re destined to get burned. By not taking care of business against Golden State two weeks ago, the Raps left their fate in the hands of the Bulls and they had no problem snatching the final playoff spot away from them.
Now, has Chris Bosh played in his last game as a Raptor? Well, the betting is yes. After all, why would one of the premier players in the game want to stick around with a team that continually shows zero heart, is poorly coached and run, and has no real shot at making noise in the playoffs unless another all-star is brought in?
Bosh needs to find a team where all the responsibility of winning isn’t squarely on his shoulders. He’s simply not good to carry a team to the Promised Land, and this season is evidence enough of that.
