Where were the Thanksgiving throwbacks?

After a day of great football, I have one complaint: Where were the throwback jerseys? The Thanksgiving day games have traditionally given us a chance to watch teams go out there in old-school garb. That wasn’t the case this season as only the Cowboys came out in their blue swank-looking throwbacks. The Ravens played in their black alternates, but they do so probably three times a season. So where was the usual love for tradition? Did the Lions really have to wear their Arena League lookalike getups and we know the Packers wear those throwbacks from the 1930s on occasion. Come on guys!

Lines are from bodog and the home teams are in CAPS.

ST. LOUIS -1.5 over Arizona
When these two teams met a few weeks ago, the Cardinals needed a 99-yard punt return to win it. I don’t see that happening again.

NY JETS -9 over Buffalo
You really have to feel sad for the Bills. Their injuries have started to pile up and now losing Fred Jackson should prove too much to deal with.

CINCINNATI -8 over Cleveland
If you think Colt McCoy is going to move the ball against this defence, you’re crazy. He’s playing for his job and not doing it very well.

Houston -4 over JACKSONVILLE
Matt Leinart’s check-down game will work perfectly with Arian Foster and Ben Tate.

Carolina -3.5 over INDIANAPOLIS
I would feel a lot better about the Colts getting their first win, except their defence is so awful that Cam Newton will throw for 400 yards on them.

Tampa Bay +3.5 over TENNESSEE
Raheem Morris’ job could be on the line. The Bucs played through injuries last year, why can’t they this year?

ATLANTA -9.5 over Minnesota
No Adrian Peterson, not faith in the Vikings covering.

Chicago +4 over OAKLAND
Caleb Hanie is a real unknown, but the Bears defence should contain the Raiders and Matt Forte will lead the offence.

SEATTLE -3.5 over Washington
Can you really back Rex Grossman going into the loudest stadium in the league? The Seahawks defence is surprisingly decent too.

New England -4 over PHILADELPHIA
With Nnamdi Asomugha being carted off the field in practice, the Eagles’ dream team really is a nightmare now.

Denver +7 over SAN DIEGO
Are the Chargers just trying to get Norv Turner fired? If this game is close in the fourth, you have to like Tebow.

Pittsburgh -11 over KANSAS CITY
Poor Tyler Palko. You have to think that we’re a week away from seeing Kyle Orton under centre for the Chiefs.

New York Giants +8 over NEW ORLEANS
The Saints may be coming off a bye, but are they really eight points better than the visiting Giants?

This week: 2-1
Last week: 7-7
This season: 81-81-2
