When the schedule first came out, I circled this game as one of the worst not just of the dreadful Thursday night football lineup: Buffalo at Cleveland.
But a funny thing happened. The Bills aren’t rolling over with their rookie QB and giving teams some trouble while the Browns traded away their best offensive weapon, started their third-string QB and have won two games in a row since.
So, after tonight, either the Bills or Browns will be above .500. And yes, it’s October.
Get excited: It’s EJ Manuel vs. Brian Hoyer! Thursday! Night! Football!
For tonight’s game, I come back to the Bills loss to the Jets, where they looked average at best on the road. That seems to be the Bills’ Achilles heel every year. The team just can’t seem to get it done away from the Ralph.
The Browns obviously aren’t the most talented team, but home-field advantage on a very short week always helps some.
Throw in the fact that C.J. Spiller is getting banged up every week and that Jordan Cameron is playing like Jimmy Graham 2.0 and you have your pick.
The pick: CLEVELAND -4 over Buffalo
Last week: 9-5-1
This season: 29-31-2
