The lines are from Vegas and the home teams are in CAPs.
ARIZONA -8 over Minnesota
Sure, it was a Thursday, but maybe the Vikings are a good team when you consider how many key defenders they were missing last night. But man, you can’t allow two sacks and a forced fumble on the last drive of the game.
CINCINNATI -2.5 over Pittsburgh
While the Steelers are very dangerous on offence, the Bengals look like one of the most complete teams in the league.
Buffalo (pk) over PHILADELPHIA
The Eagles won’t get three return TDs every week and last week likely glossed over how bad they’ve actually been recently.
CAROLINA -8.5 over Atlanta
The Falcons smell like burnt toast while Panthers keep finding ways to win, even when they shouldn’t.
San Francisco (pk) over CLEVELAND
Blaine Gabbert vs. Johnny Manziel. I don’t know if they’ll even broadcast this game.
Washington +3 over CHICAGO
For some reason, the Bears – a decent team – just can’t win at home. Washington can bounce right back into the division title race with a win.
Detroit -1 over ST. LOUIS
It was terrible luck for the Lions to lose last week while the Rams have been just plain terrible lately, not even being able to get Todd Gurley going.
KANSAS CITY -11.5 over San Diego
The Chargers are more interested in their potential move to L.A. while the Chiefs will be a wild-card team nobody wants to meet.
New Orleans +3.5 over TAMPA BAY
The Saints may have an all-time bad defence – again – but I just don’t trust the Bucs. They’re due for a stinker.
Indianapolis NL over JACKSONVILLE
If Matt Hasselbeck plays, I’ll take the Colts. If not it’s all Jags.
Tennessee +7.5 over NEW YORK JETS
The Jets are coming off a big win, but the Titans are better than their record when Mariota is at full strength.
New England -3.5 over HOUSTON
J.J. Watt’s broken hand won’t affect him too much, but it’s enough that the Pats should be able to take advantage of it. Also, Bill Belichick should know a thing or two about his former protégé.
DENVER -8.5 over Oakland
The Raiders have collapsed after opening the season strong, making their early run seem very flash-in-the-panny. The Broncos shouldn’t be too troubled at home.
GREEN BAY -7.5 over Dallas
The Cowboys are somehow in the playoff hunt, but shouldn’t be. Can’t see Matt Cassel keeping it close at Lambeau Field.
Seattle -10.5 over BATLIMORE
Just what, exactly, do you expect Matt Schaub and Buck Allen to do against the Seahawks defence? And do you expect the Ravens to contain Russell Wilson and Thomas Rawls?
New York Giants (pk) over MIAMI
Why should anyone pick the Dolphins? Even with the Giants O-line hurting, Miami doesn’t have the talent to create pressure.
Last week: 5-11
