NFL Week 11 picks
The lines are from Vegas and the home teams in CAPs.
PITTSBURGH -7 over Tennessee
So, that’s what the Steelers offence can do when it’s really clicking…
CHICAGO +3 over Detroit
Things seem a bit too nice for the Lions right now. The Bears lost last week because of a terrible challenge by John Fox and have been very solid at home.
NEW YORK GIANTS +10.5 over Kansas City
This is crazy. Giants coach Ben McAdoo is a lame-duck coach and Eli Manning’s grip on his starting job is fading. But, somehow, I still think that they can grab a back-door cover against the Chiefs team that won’t need to do much to win.
Tampa Bay (pick) over MIAMI
The Week 1 game that was moved here because the NFL dropped the ball about moving it to a neutral site – and both teams could’ve certainly used the bye. The Dolphins are the worse team here and we’ll take the consistent averageness of Ryan Fitzpatrick over the crazy fluctuations of Jay Cutler, who is more down than up this season.
GREEN BAY +2 over Baltimore
Why should we be giving points with the mediocre Ravens on the road? The Packers aren’t too good with Brett Hundley under centre, but they have that Lambeau advantage and shouldn’t go quietly.
Los Angeles Rams +2.5 over MINNESOTA
Is this a NFC championship preview? The Rams seem to be doing everything well while we’re still weary of the Vikings offence. The running game is a bit lacking and Case Keenum does still make mistakes. It’s safer to take the points, we think.
Arizona +1 over HOUSTON
Blaine Gabbert vs. Tom Savage is a matchup that nobody should watch. I bet that Adrian Peterson gets the ball 30 times and wins it for the Cards.
Jacksonville -7.5 over CLEVELAND
If you think the Browns will be able to move the ball against this stellar Jags defence, you’re crazy. Although it does seem crazy to spot this many points with Blake Bortles on the road.
Washington +8 over NEW ORLEANS
Washington is starting to get healthy again and its secondary should bounce back after last week’s awful performance. The Saints are no joke, but beware the backdoor cover when giving eight points.
Buffalo +4 over LOS ANGELES CHARGERS
Let’s not get carried away with the fact that it’s Nathan Peterman’s first career start and it’s on the road in L.A. Let’s remember that L.A. keeps finding ways to lose, have zero home-field advantage and is prone to playing really close games. This one shouldn’t be decided by more than a field goal, either way.
Cincinnati +2.5 over DENVER
The Bengals certainly have their issues, but they aren’t nearly as glaring as the terrible play that the Broncos are getting at QB.
New England -7 over Oakland at Mexico City
The Raiders would’ve been much better playing this one in the Black Hole, but instead they’ll be paying at altitude. Don’t forget that the Pats were in Denver for a Mile High battle last week and should feel those effects much less.
Philadelphia -4 over DALLAS
The lack of Sean Lee, Ezekiel Elliott and potentially Tyron Smith is just too much to even consider the Cowboys in this one, even as a home dog. The Eagles are just too good and will exploit those holes.
Atlanta +3 over SEATTLE
The Falcons aren’t the same team that went to the Super Bowl last year, but the Legion of Boom has been decimated. We’re not sure how the Seahawks defence will hold without Richard Sherman, Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor all potentially out.
Last week: 10-3-1
This season: 75-57-5
