NFL Week 13 picks

The lines are from betway.com and the home teams in CAPs.

NEW ORLEANS -7.5 over Dallas

Well, that was unexpected. The Saints offence had few answers for Dallas’ defence. And they can’t even blame this one on being a Thursday night game as both teams had played on Thanksgiving.

Denver -5 over CINCINNATI

The Broncos are headed in the right direction while the Bengals’ season is going into the gutter. This whole Hue Jackson thing is a mess and the sooner the season ends for Cincy, the better.

DETROIT +10 over L.A. Rams

The Lions are by no means a good team, but Matt Stafford was extraordinarily bad on Thanksgiving and can surely bounce back here. We’re not expecting a win, but a late cover is certainly in the cards.

Arizona +14 over GREEN BAY

Another huge dog where we’ll take the points. The Packers shouldn’t have a problem winning this game – unless things are worse than we know with Aaron Rodgers and Mike McCarthy.

Cleveland +6 over HOUSTON

The Texans are on an incredible streak, but you have to like what Baker Mayfield and Nick Chubb have done since Jackson was canned.

Indianapolis -4 over JACKSONVILLE

The Jags finally made some big changes, firing their OC and benching Blake Bortles, but when the solution is promoting a former CFL coach and starting a former Browns QB, it doesn’t exactly inspire confidence.

MIAMI -5 over Buffalo

The Dolphins blew it against the Colts in Ryan Tannehill’s comeback, but showed much more than they had with Brock Osweiler in the past weeks. Kenyan Drake even had a good game, so that tells you something.

NEW YORK GIANTS (nl) over Chicago

The streaking Giants face a big roadblock here, but might be able to take advantage of Chase Daniel, although the vet has had extra time to prepare for this one.

Carolina -3.5 over TAMPA BAY

It’s OK to take Jameis Winston when he’s facing a terrible team like the 49ers, but with a Panthers team that should be in must-win mode, we’re think that the Bucs QB will be back to his turnover-prone ways.

OAKLAND +15 over Kansas City

The Chiefs are great. They’re coming off a bye, a rare loss and should be fired up to rack up some points against their division rival. But even so, 15 points is too many to spot a home dog, even if they’re as bad as the Raiders can be at times.

TENNESSEE -8 over New York Jets

This is obviously a lot of points to give with the inconsistent Titans, but the Jets are going down in flames.

Minnesota +5 over NEW ENGLAND

It’s hard to believe that we’re fading the Pats at home, but here we are. It’s not like this team is bad, but they’re certainly missing something.

SEATTLE -10 over San Francisco

After beating the Panthers on the road last week, it’s looking like the Seahawks could be a real contender for a wild-card spot. The Niners are still debating if it will Nick Mullens or C.J. Beathard starting – and neither is a good option. Also, we wonder what the crowd’s reaction to Richard Sherman will be.

PITTSBURGH -3.5 over L.A. Chargers

Big Ben at home in prime time is always a solid bet to back. The Chargers are coming off a loss and are down Melvin Gordon. Joey Bosa still isn’t his menacing self yet, either.

Washington +6.5 over PHILADELPHIA

We’ll give the Eagles some credit for their win last week, but the Giants completely blew that game. Washington has had some extra time to get ready with Colt McCoy under centre and the return of Chris Thompson could be big.

Last week: 5-10

This season: 84-82-7
