The lines are oddsshark.com and the home teams in CAPs.
BALTIMORE -14.5 over New York Jets
Watching Lamar Jackson and the Ravens is every bit worthy of being a prime-time event.
Chicago +4.5 over GREEN BAY
These two met in the season-opener and it was a low-scoring slog. With the weather looking like it will be a factor, this should probably be another one. Mitchell Trubisky hasn’t been terrible for the past few weeks, which is a big improvement, too.
Denver +9.5 over KANSAS CITY
Drew Lock has breathed new life into the Broncos offence. While by no means does that put them on par with the Chiefs, the rookie could have a decent game against K.C.’s mediocre defence and even score a backdoor cover, if needed.
Houston +3 over TENNESSEE
The Texans are very hit-or-miss, beating the Pats and then losing to Denver the next week. But we’ll chalk up that home loss to Denver on this game right here. Houston likely couldn’t help looking ahead at this huge division-rivalry game. Ryan Tannehill and the Titans are due for a down week and it could come against this good opponent, setting up a killer Week 17 rematch.
Seattle -6 over CAROLINA
Christian McCaffrey hasn’t slowed down much, but the rest of the Panthers have, especially on defence. Seattle lost Rashaad Penny, who had been a spark in the running game, but that shouldn’t slow the Seahawks down too much in Carolina.
New England -9 over CINCINNATI
After this latest Patriots video-taping “scandal,†they may have done just enough to distract from how poor they’ve been. But here’s the thing: They’ve been playing some good opponents. The Bengals aren’t anywhere near that category, so the Pats should roll.
DETROIT +3.5 over Tampa Bay
Losing Mike Evans hurts the Bucs offence is big way. Without him, defences can key on Chris Godwin and pressure Jameis Winston into targeting other players. And, as we’ve seen, Jameis under pressure is not good for the Bucs – and his hand is hurt, too.
Miami +3.5 over NEW YORK GIANTS
The Dolphins still have that competitive spirit in them while the Giants folded in a division game on Monday night. Whether it’s Eli or Danny Dimes, we wouldn’t be thrilled to trust them to cover more than a field goal.
WASHINGTON +4.5 over Philadelphia
The Eagles could put some real pressure on Dallas with a win here, but this looks like a bit of a trap game for Philly. The Eagles are getting more banged-up by the week, losing top WR Alshon Jeffery. Despite Washington’s struggles, we feel there is some value here as a home dog.
Jacksonville +6.5 over OAKLAND
It’s the Raiders’ final game in Oakland, but we don’t think that will mean much. With Josh Jacobs ailing, the Raiders offence doesn’t have many decent options. Their defence is failing, too, which should mean a big day for Leonard Fournette and the incomparable Gardner Minshew.
Cleveland -2.5 over ARIZONA
Once the competition picked up, the Cards folded after a decent run in October. The Browns have performed well under expectations, but should be able to handle this trip to the desert.
Minnesota -2.5 over L.A. CHARGERS
The Chargers show up every game and finally scored a big victory last week. But the Vikings are one of the league’s top teams and should have a good share of fans in L.A. for this one. With Dalvin Cook and Adam Thielen both looking set to suit up, this one could get ugly.
SAN FRANCISCO -11 over Atlanta
The Niners are peaking at the right time while the Falcons are playing out the string. Worse, Atlanta lost Calvin Ridley for the season. While this could be a trap with two key division games coming up to end the season, San Francisco should run all over Atlanta.
L.A. Rams -1 over DALLAS
The Rams offence finally showed up last week for the first time in a while. Is Sean McVay back to being a genius? We’re not entirely sure, but we can’t help but wonder about the Cowboys’ collective mental state. Has this team quit on Jason Garrett? It’s looking more like it by the week. Dallas hasn’t beat a winning team all season, either.
Buffalo +2 over PITTSBURGH
This one should be all about defence, with two of the top units going head to head. While it’s hard not to fall for the legend of Duck Hodges, this is a much tougher test than anything he has encountered before.
NEW ORLEANS -9 over Indianapolis
The Colts’ slide should continue here. The Saints need to bounce back after that thriller against the 49ers last week and the defence should have things a bit more under wraps in his one.
Last week: 5-8-3
This season: 108-90-5
