The lines are from oddsshark.com and the home teams in CAPs.
SEATTLE -3 over Arizona
Watching Russell Wilson and Kyler Murray duel is going to be entertaining for years to come.
Atlanta +5 over NEW ORLEANS
The Falcons have been improving under interim coach Raheem Morris and have had the extra week to prepare for their division rival. Jameis Winston should fill in for Drew Brees just fine, but we’re skeptical to drop more than a field goal.
New England -2 over HOUSTON
The Patriots have their problems and got a bit lucky with the terrible weather on Sunday night. But they can run the ball effectively and that’s a big issue for the Texans defence.
Detroit (NL) over CAROLINA
The Panthers are the better team here in most measures, but are down Christian McCaffrey once again and Teddy Bridgewater is banged-up. Win or lose, the Lions are usually good for a close game.
CLEVELAND -3.5 over Philadelphia
It took a bit too long, but the Browns have found a way around relying on Baker Mayfield. Cleveland’s running game is among the league’s best attacks and there’s no reason to trust the Eagles at this point.
Tennessee +6 over BALTIMORE
A lot of factors at play in this one: The Titans know the recipe to beat the Ravens, as demonstrated in the playoffs last year. They’ve also had some extra rest heading in while Baltimore’s injuries are adding up quickly. Tennessee has hit a slump, but we prefer taking the points in what should be a close one.
JACKSONVILLE +10 over Pittsburgh
The Steelers can talk about their respect for the Jags, but they must be looking ahead to their big game against the Ravens coming up on Thursday night. The Jags have played a couple of close games under Jake Luton and could score a big-door cover if Pittsburgh lets up.
WASHINGTON -1 over Cincinnati
The Football Team’s defence has been able to provide pressure and that’s not good news for Joe Burrow, who seems to be under fire every week. The Bengals defence hasn’t been up to par and could have some trouble.
L.A. CHARGERS -8.5 over New York Jets
The lowly Jets are just 2-7 against the spread this season, despite getting spotted copious amounts of points every week. The Chargers have been gutted several times, but that couldn’t happen against Adam Gase, right?
Miami -3 over DENVER
A banged-up Drew Lock taking on the red-hot Dolphins defence? We’ll gladly buy a ticket for the Tua Train, despite having to spot some points on the road.
Green Bay +2.5 over INDIANAPOLIS
Does this line seem fishy? The Colts are playing well, but should they be spotting points to MVP candidate Aaron Rodgers and Co.? Indy’s run game is dangerous, but can it keep up with the Pack’s attack? It’ll be tough.
MINNESOTA -7.5 over Dallas
The one thing that the Cowboys have in their favour here is that they’re coming off their bye while the Vikings played a rough matchup on Monday night in Chicago. It shouldn’t matter though, considering Dallas’ defence will have trouble slowing Dalvin Cook or the Vikings stud receiving duo.
LAS VEGAS +7 over Kansas City
Is a little revenge in store here? We all know that Andy Reid teams do very well off the bye and they will have poured over the tape from their Week 5 loss to Vegas for two straight weeks. The Raiders, on the other hand, have been playing well and are in wild-card contention. It’s a bit hard to be dropping nearly a TD to these hosts.
TAMPA BAY -3.5 over L.A. Rams
After their high-profile setback against the Saints, the Bucs got right back to it last week. Jared Goff struggles against the league’s better defences and will have his hands full on Monday night. The loss of Andrew Whitworth is a huge blow to L.A.’s line, too.
Last week: 2-9-1
This season: 66-71-4
