The lines are from oddsshark.com and the home teams in CAPs.
TENNESSEE -6 over Cleveland
Everything the Browns are good at, the Titans are better. Derrick Henry is close to impossible to tackle when the weather gets cold and A.J. Brown is looking unstoppable, too.
Indianapolis -3 over HOUSTON
Just when the Texans offence started humming, it loses its biggest weapon with Will Fuller suspended for the rest of the season. The Colts defence is hard enough to unlock to begin with and now it’ll be even harder.
Detroit +3 over CHICAGO
The Lions come in with some extra rest and have a big weight lifted from their shoulders with Matt Patricia fired. It’s hard to take the Bears serious as favourites against anyone these days.
Jacksonville +10 over MINNESOTA
We’ve got a minor concern over Dalvin Cook’s health and the Jags actually have some decent pieces on defence. Mike Glennon wasn’t horrific last week, but could score a backdoor cover against the Vikings pedestrian defence if needed.
Las Vegas -8 over NEW YORK JETS
The sloppy Raiders completely blew it last week against the Falcons, but it won’t happen again. The Jets are cruising towards an 0-16 season and as long as Adam Gase is in charge, it’s looking likely they get there.
New Orleans -3 over ATLANTA
We just saw this game two weeks ago and not much has changed. In fact, the Falcons might actually be a bit worse off with some injuries. No reason not to back the Saints for the sweep.
MIAMI -11 over Cincinnati
It’s a big number to spot given how inconsistent Ryan Fitzpatrick can be, but the Bengals simply lack the talent to compete with the playoff-bound Dolphins.
New York Giants +10 over SEATTLE
This is another case of the Seahawks clearly being the superior team, but not being able to really blow out inferior opponents, like the Eagles last week. Colt McCoy starts for the Giants and that’s a bit of a worry, but he could be serviceable against a very weak pass defence.
L.A. Rams -3 over ARIZONA
Kyler Murray is playing like he’s a lot more hurt than the Cards are leading on. The Rams need to bounce back after getting taken down by the Niners again and have the clear coaching advantage.
New England +1 over L.A. CHARGERS
The Chargers are surely the more talented team, but the difference in coaching is vast. The Pats have a habit of pulling out close wins they might not deserve while Anthony Lynn’s crew has a habit of blowing games they should probably take.
GREEN BAY -9.5 over Philadelphia
You just can’t count on Carson Wentz at all anymore, his regression has been stunning. The Packers are certainly capable of putting up points in bunches and should do so here.
Denver +14 over KANSAS CITY
The Chiefs typically own the Broncos, but Denver should have some revenge on its mind. First, for the 43-16 beating K.C. laid on it earlier this season, but also for how the league treated it during last week’s QB debacle.
PITTSBURGH -8 over Washington
The Steelers sometimes play down to their opponent and were especially sloppy while still beating the Ravens in their much-delayed game. But that seems like all the more reason they’ll bounce back against this NFC East fodder.
SAN FRANCISCO +1 over Buffalo
The Niners are getting healthier and look a bit undervalued here. Even with this game moved to Arizona, we’ll take the “home†dog.
BALTIMORE (nl) over Dallas
The Ravens can’t afford to drop any more games in the midst of their slump out of the playoffs. Lamar Jackson will likely be back for this one and Baltimore should be able to run all over Dallas.
Last week: 5-9
This season: 76-88-4
