The lines are from oddsshark.com and the home teams in CAPs.
New England +5 over L.A. RAMS
Can the Pats keep on starting Cam Newton? And where will he be a backup QB next year? Who will be piloting the Pats? So many questions on the horizon in New England.
Houston (pk) over CHICAGO
The Texans fumbled away the game against Indy last week and have been playing well over the past three games. The Bears are in a freefall, having lost six straight and are already starting to point fingers.
JACKSONVILLE +7.5 over Tennessee
Despite their epic losing streak, the Jaguars have done well to stay in games. At home against a division rival, they should put up another good fight.
Denver +4 over CAROLINA
The Panthers have some COVID concerns coming off their bye, but will likely have the affected players back for Sunday. Throwing out Denver’s Week 12 debacle, they’ve played well recently despite turnover worries.
Minnesota +6.5 over TAMPA BAY
Did the Bucs fix all their problems over their bye week? We’ll see, but the Vikings provide a big test with rookie Justin Jefferson emerging as their next star receiver.
NEW YORK GIANTS +1.5 over Arizona
Kyler Murray hasn’t been playing at his MVP level since getting his shoulder banged up and it’s showing in the Cards production. The Giants have really come together, especially on defence, and are perfectly capable of winning this one.
MIAMI +7.5 over Kansas City
Brian Flores is already on the shortlist for coach of the year honours and may become the favourite if his defence can slow the Chiefs. K.C. hasn’t blown a team out since Week 8 and will be in tough to do so here.
Dallas -3.5 over CINCINNATI
The Andy Dalton revenge game! The Cowboys defence may be among the league’s worst, but so is the Bengals offence since Joe Burrow was shelved.
New York Jets +13.5 over SEATTLE
The Jets won’t score an upset victory like the Giants did last week in Seattle, but the Seahawks haven’t won a two-score game since Week 9.
Indianapolis -2.5 over LAS VEGAS
The Raiders have not been in good form the past few weeks and were lucky to beat the lowly Jets. They come home to face a Colts team that has the pieces to shut down their offence.
Green Bay -7.5 over DETROIT
The Lions got their new coach boost last week after canning Matt Patricia, but that effect should wear off. The Packers own the Lions and have been blowing out opponents.
SAN FRANCISCO -3 over Washington
The 49ers didn’t fare so well in their first game playing host in Arizona, but that’s not unexpected. Washington has been a feel-good story, but losing Antonio Gibson hurts their offensive potential.
Atlanta -2.5 over L.A. CHARGERS
We’re not expecting the Chargers to get shut out again, but the Falcons should cause them problems. Anthony Lynn is looking like a lame duck and looks like one of the worst coaches in the league.
New Orleans -7 over PHILADELPHIA
Jalen Hurts could be in for a world of hurt in his starting debut. The Saints defence has been playing at a high level and will put pressure on the rookie QB playing behind a patchwork line. The Eagles haven’t fared well against rushing QBs, either.
Pittsburgh +2.5 over BUFFALO
The Steelers lose one game and now they’re getting points? That’s just fine by us. They need to fix their sloppiness on offence, but the return of James Conner will help the running game.
CLEVELAND +1 over Baltimore
Let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves saying the Ravens are back after they beat up on the Cowboys. They’re on a short week here and, in case you haven’t heard, the Browns are looking really good.
Last week: 10-4
