NFL MOCK DRAFT: Niners make blockbuster move for a QB

After a couple of trades shook up the top half of the draft, we could see QBs go 1-2-3 and maybe even get five in the top 10.

1.Jacksonville

Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson

New Jags coach has all but confirmed that the team will be taking the Clemson stud first overall.

2. New York Jets

Zach Wilson, QB, BYU

Taking a QB here is assured after trading away Darnold and the betting here is the new man is Wilson.

3. San Francisco

Mac Jones, QB, Alabama

It might be a smokescreen, but there are a lot of reports that the Niners made their move up to grab Jones.

4. Atlanta

Kyle Pitts, TE, Florida

Some peg Pitts as the best TE prospect in a long time and worthy of this lofty draft position.

5. Cincinnati

Ja’Marr Chase, WR, LSU

Reports say Burrow is campaigning hard for Chase and the Bengals could wait for an OT in the second round.

6. Miami

DeVonta Smith, WR, Alabama

Banked a first rounder to basically move back three spots and still should land an outstanding playmaker.

7. Detroit

Penei Sewell, OT, Oregon

May look at Waddle for a much-needed receiving option, but Sewell’s mean streak is a great fit.

8. Carolina

Jaylen Waddle, WR, Alabama

Dealing for Darnold should take QB options off the table here, opening up all kinds of possibilities.

9. Denver

Justin Fields, QB, Ohio State

Drew Lock hasn’t inspired much confidence and Fields may end up being the top QB in this draft.

10. Dallas

Rashawn Slater, OT, Northwestern

The Cowboys have several needs, especially on defence, but replenishing their once-vaunted O-line will help.

11. New York Giants

Micah Parsons, LB, Penn State

Believe it or not, we might not see a defender taken in the top 10 picks of the draft.

12. Philadelphia

Alijah Vera-Tucker, OT, USC

There’s a big need for a WR, but trading down scuttled that opportunity. O-line is in need of some youth.

13. Los Angeles Chargers

Patrick Surtain II, CB, Alabama

The Chargers bolstered their O-line in free agency and should look to take some DBs for new coach Staley’s scheme.

14. Minnesota

Christian Darrisaw, OT, Virginia Tech

The Vikings either need a tackle for the future or an edge rushing prospect and we like Darrisaw’s potential.

15. New England

Trey Lance, QB, North Dakota State

This would be a dream scenario for the Pats and Lance, who could develop for a year behind Newton.

16. Arizona

Jaycee Horn, CB, South Carolina

Horn blew scouts away at his pro day and we wouldn’t be shocked to see him be the first CB off the board.

17. Las Vegas

Teven Jenkins, OT, Oklahoma State

After dismantling their offensive line for no apparent reason, the Raiders will need to stock up again.

18. Miami

Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, LB, Notre Dame

Fast, athletic and versatile, JOK would be a great piece for the Dolphins defence.

19. Washington

Caleb Farley, CB, Virginia Tech

Back surgery has given Farley’s stock a bit of a hit, but that could play to Washington’s benefit here.

20. Chicago

Kadarius Toney, WR, Florida

Franchising Allen Robinson doesn’t make getting more receiving options any less of a need.

21. Indianapolis

Kwity Paye, DE, Michigan

Left tackle is a big need, especially with Wentz at QB, but Paye is the draft’s top edge rusher.

22. Tennessee

Elijah Moore, WR, Ole Miss

The Titans are incredibly thin at WR after A.J. Brown and Moore popped during his pro day.

23. New York Jets

Azeez Ojulari, OLB, Georgia

The Jets have needs everywhere on defence and Ojulari’s athleticism and potential could be game-changing

24. Pittsburgh

Zaven Collins, LB, Tulsa

The Steelers have a lot of holes to fill and Collins could be an excellent replacement for Bud Dupree.

25. Jacksonville

Jaelen Phillips, DE, Miami

Another team with holes all over the defence, the Jags should look to bolster their pass rush early.

26. Cleveland

Trevon Moehrig, S, TCU

Landing the draft’s top free safety would provide some nice coverage on the back end for the contending Browns.

27. Baltimore

Gregory Rousseau, DE, Miami

Rousseau sat out 2020, but he’s the type of high-potential pass rusher the Ravens crave.

28. New Orleans

Terrace Marshall Jr., WR, LSU

Cap issues have created many holes for the Saints to fill and local product Marshall would help with that.

29. Green Bay

Landon Dickerson, C, Alabama

We know: The Packers could use a WR. But, they also lost their long-time centre in free agency this off-seaosn.

30. Buffalo

Greg Newsome II, CB, Northwestern

Putting an exciting prospect like Newsome across from Tre’Davious White would be a big boost for the Bills defence.

31. Kansas City

Samuel Cosmi, OT, Texas

Did some work in free agency to bolster the interior of their O-line, but need help at tackle, too.

32. Tampa Bay

Christian Barmore, DT, Alabama

Brought back all their Super Bowl starters so could land some D-line depth here or maybe a new RB.
