NFL Week 8 picks: Gotta go with Joe Burrow

The lines are from covers.com and the home teams in CAPs.

ARIZONA -6.5 over Green Bay

That was an MVP-calibre drive by Kyler Murray before veteran receiver A.J. Green straight up blew it in the end zone.

BUFFALO -14 over Miami

It’s a lot of points to be giving in a division rival matchup, but the Bills haven’t let up this season when facing lesser foes. The Dolphins also got crushed at home in this matchup back in Week 2.

ATLANTA -3 over Carolina

The Falcons have their flaws, but they seem to have figured out a few things on offence, like how to get Kyle Pitts really going. The Panthers are in a slump and Sam Darnold is playing worse than ever.\

DETROIT +3.5 over Philadelphia

It would be a huge boost for the Lions to get their first win before heading into their bye next week and it’s not like the Eagles have exactly been soaring.

INDIANAPOLIS +1 over Tennessee

How can you bet against Derrick Henry right now? It’s hard, but Carson Wentz has been improving by the week, Indy has home-field advantage and will look for some revenge after losing in Tennessee in Week 3.

HOUSTON +14.5 over L.A. Rams

With Tyrod Taylor looking set to return, the Texans might actually be able to put together some offence. The Rams have a bigger game with the Titans up next and could be looking ahead.

Cincinnati -10.5 over NEW YORK JETS

The Bengals are rolling while the Jets are rolling down a steep hill. New York will have a lot of trouble containing Cincy’s offence and aren’t likely to keep up with Mike White at QB.

CLEVELAND -3.5 over Pittsburgh

It looks like Baker Mayfield will be back, but that’s not the most important return here. Teaming up Nick Chubb with the surprisingly good D’Ernest Johnson should give the Browns all the offence they’ll need against the average Steelers.

San Francisco -3.5 over CHICAGO

Kyle Shanahan’s team just straight up has to start winning games. The Bears are down Khalil Mack and that’s a huge blow to their defence, especially one that has already struggled to stop the run.

Jacksonville +3 over SEATTLE

We know, it’s the Jags on the road in Seattle, but we just can’t bet on Geno Smith and bottom five defence. At worst, we think the points make the difference.

New England +5.5 over L.A. CHARGERS

The Chargers may have had an extra week to absorb that beating the Ravens laid on them, but they don’t match up great against the Pats. New England has been running the ball very well and L.A. hasn’t been able to stop it. The Pats also shutout the Chargers late last season 45-0 – it won’t be that bad, but getting these points helps.

DENVER -3 over Washington

The Broncos have had some extra time to prepare for this one while Washington might just be looking forward to their bye next week. There’s not much to like right now from either side, but Denver has a few more positives.

Tampa Bay -5 over NEW ORLEANS

Will it be trick or treat at the Superdome? The Saints barely eked by the Geno Smith-led Seahawks on Monday night and the Bucs’ biggest drama is all about getting footballs back from fans.

Dallas -2.5 over MINNESOTA

Both teams come off their byes for what should be an excellent matchup. Dallas is the lone team that remains undefeated against the spread and have done so against some pretty decent opponents.

New York Giants +10 over KANSAS CITY

It’s easy to notice the decline in the Chiefs’ offence because it has gone from otherworldly to just “pretty good.” The biggest thing is that their defence is historically bad and will have trouble containing an improving Giants unit.

Last week: 5-8

This season: 47-59-1
