NFL WEEK 12 PICKS: A bunch of Thanksgiving turkeys

The lines are from covers.com and the home teams are in CAPs.

DETROIT +3 over Chicago

It was about as pretty you’d expect a Jared Goff vs. Andy Dalton to be.

Las Vegas +7.5 over DALLAS

28 total penalties for 276 yards. Are you serious?

Buffalo -6 over NEW ORLEANS

The Saints’ usage of Taysom Hill – or lack thereof – makes zero sense considering what they’re paying him.

NEW ENGLAND -7 over Tennessee

Where, exactly, is the Titans’ advantage in this one? Their defensive front is their strength, but the Pats’ offensive line ranks as one of the league’s best.

HOUSTON -2.5 over New York Jets

The Houston Texans are somehow favourites here, which tells you all you need to know about the Jets. Zach Wilson is back, but that’s not exactly inspiring. Tyrod Taylor is at least capable of moving the ball at times.

Philadelphia -3.5 over NEW YORK GIANTS

Firing Jason Garrett will help, but it’s not going to be the one thing that fixes the Giants offence. The Eagles offence has hit its stride by relying on the running game and New York will be hard-pressed to stop it, especially with legions of Eagles fans reportedly scooping up tickets for this one.

Tampa Bay -3 over INDIANAPOLIS

Jonathan Taylor is as hot as they come, which makes taking the points an enticing proposition. On the other hand, the Bucs are getting healthier and possess the league’s most formidable run defence.

JACKSONVILLE +1 over Atlanta

As long as Calvin Ridley and Cordarrelle Patterson are out for the Falcons, we just can’t back them – even against the Jags.

Carolina -1.5 over MIAMI

The Dolphins defence will be Cam Newton’s first big test in his second Carolina stint. While Miami will throw some different looks at him, it’s Christian McCaffrey that makes the difference in this one for us.

Pittsburgh +4.5 over CINCINNATI

The Steelers will get back some key defenders for this divisional matchup. The Bengals are the better team here, but shouldn’t be giving more than a FG in a rivalry setting.

DENVER +3 over L.A. Chargers

The Broncos are going to be able to run the ball on this Chargers defence and have the personnel to do it well. The Chargers could be a bit overvalued after their big prime-time victory.

Minnesota +3 over SAN FRANCISCO

The Niners are on the rise after two hot weeks, but also haven’t beaten a team other than the Rams at home since 2019. The Vikes, at the very least, can keep it close.

L.A. Rams +1 over GREEN BAY

The Packers are just too injured coming into this one and will have one hell of a time blocking the Rams’ pass rush. Seeing Davante Adams face off with Jalen Ramsey should be a treat, too.

BALTIMORE -4 over Cleveland

Lamar Jackson will surely be back from his illness and that’s bad news for the Browns. Baltimore has scored 116 points in the teams’ previous three meetings and a hobbled Baker Mayfield isn’t going to keep up.

Seattle +1 over WASHINGTON

Russell Wilson and the Seahawks have been pretty bad since he returned two weeks, so why back them on the road against an improving Washington Football Team? Well, the hosts only have two wins in their history on Monday Night Football and Wilson shines in prime time.

Last week: 11-4

This season: 72-91-1
