NFL Week 13 picks: Brady strengthens MVP case

The lines are from covers.com and the home teams in CAPs.

NEW ORLEANS +4.5 over Dallas

I don’t think the Saints are going to worry about having to pay that bonus to Taysom Hill for becoming the starting QB in the future.

Minnesota -7 over DETROIT

There’s not much downgrade from Dalvin Cook to Alexander Mattison, surprisingly. While the Lions have certainly been game against tougher opponents, the Vikes are just far too superior.

CHICAGO +7.5 over Arizona

Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins are back in the lineup, but teams coming have struggled and Kliff Kingsbury has yet to cover in that situation. The Bears aren’t exactly a pleasant team to back, but the price might be right.

Indianapolis -9 over HOUSTON

Will the Texans be up for another AFC South upset after taking down the Titans two weeks ago? Or will it be more like that loss to the Jets? The Colts blew it against the Bucs and should look to Jonathan Taylor a lot more.

Philadelphia -6.5 over NEW YORK JETS

The Giants shut down the Eagles by forcing Jalen Hurts to be a pure passer, which he clearly isn’t. Will the Jets have the same plan and personnel to do the same? Even if they do, we’re not sure Zach Wilson has another winning performance in him.

CINCINNATI -3.5 over L.A. Chargers

L.A. gets an early start here, which usually isn’t a good sign for west-coast teams. Also, not good: The Chargers’ run defence, which Joe Mixon and the Bengals could exploit.

MIAMI -5 over New York Giants

This one actually seems a bit fishy. The Dolphins defence has been great over the past few weeks while the Giants continue to struggle to move the ball and will likely have Mike Glennon at QB. Seems a bit too good to be true, right?

Washington +2.5 over LAS VEGAS

The Football Team hasn’t lost since losing Chase Young, which is a marvel, really. The Raiders keep taking hits, too, the latest being Darren Waller’s injury. While Vegas looked just fine on Thanksgiving, it had been a big slump before that.

Jacksonville +13 over L.A. RAMS

The Rams have the star power, but they just don’t know how to use them properly yet. The Jags are certainly nothing special, but have shown signs of life over the past few weeks.

Baltimore -4.5 over PITTSBURGH

Big Ben has looked washed-up most of the season and the Ravens will apply pressure on him all day. With Lamar Jackson having another week to get over his illness and regain strength, we won’t likely see another four-INT outing.

San Francisco -3 over SEATTLE

The Seahawks are a wreck and were fortunate to even make it close against Washington on Monday night. The Niners may be down Deebo Samuel, but have the horses to run the ball without him.

Denver +9 over KANSAS CITY

Two forces at work here: Teams coming off their bye have an awful ATS record this season, but Andy Reid is excellent in that situation. Considering the Broncos ability to grind out games on offence and shorten games, we’ll take the points.

New England +3 over BUFFALO

This Monday nighter should be a real good showdown with the AFC East up for grabs. The Bills losing Tre’Davious White is a big blow and what should be a fairly even matchup. We’ll take the points.

Last week: 7-8

This season: 79-99-1
