The lines are from covers.com and the home teams in CAPs.
MINNESOTA -3 over Pittsburgh
That was embarrassing. Big Ben should probably just retire right now instead of playing out the season.
Las Vegas +9.5 over KANSAS CITY
Look, if the Raiders didn’t learn their lesson about how to defend the Chiefs a few weeks ago, then they deserve to lose big to their rival yet again.
New Orleans -5 over NEW YORK JETS
Alvin Kamara’s return should help ignite a Saints offence that has been lacking. The Jets are, well, the Jets. It’s tough to back them against a solid defence.
Jacksonville +9.5 over TENNESSEE
We’re still skeptical of teams coming off their byes and the Titans bit the bill. The Jags are hardly impressive, but the Titans are still missing several key players.
CLEVELAND -2.5 over Baltimore
Thanks to a scheduling quirk, the Browns played the Ravens, took a week off and now play them again. That’s about as good of a bye-week advantage as you can get, especially with the Ravens suffering through a rough game against Pittsburgh last week.
Atlanta +2.5 over CAROLINA
The Panthers are a mess, firing their OC mid-bye week and now without Christian McCaffrey. The Falcons at least have a solid playmaker in Cordarrelle Patterson.
Dallas -3.5 over WASHINGTON
The Football Team has reeled off four straight wins, but haven’t looked convincing doing it with the Bucs game four weeks the exception. Taylor Heinicke has been improving, but the Dallas defence can create the turnovers and negative plays to win this on the road.
Seattle -7.5 over HOUSTON
Davis Mills is not an NFL-calibre QB. If the Seahawks can’t run it up this week, the calls for big changes in Seattle will be even louder.
DENVER -7.5 over Detroit
After the emotional high for the Lions last week, we’d expect a sharp letdown. That’s usually how things go and the trip to Mile High is a rough one.
L.A. CHARGERS -10.5 over New York Giants
Whether it’s Mike Glennon or Jake Fromm, you can’t like either option the Giants go with at QB.
CINCINNATI -1 over San Francisco
The Niners might rush Deebo Samuel back for this one, but that might not be the best move considering the risk of aggravating his injury and San Fran is in dire straits with their injury concerns already. Of course, there’s Joe Burrow’s mangled pinky to worry about, but he should be OK.
TAMPA BAY -3 over Buffalo
Even throwing out Monday’s debacle, the Bills are trending in the wrong direction. The Bucs have all the pieces to beat up on Buffalo and have been dynamite at home. Plus, Tom Brady has owned the Bills for years.
Chicago +11.5 over GREEN BAY
When these teams met earlier this season, Aaron Rodgers proclaimed he ‘owned’ the Bears. If that doesn’t fire up Chicago heading into this one, I don’t know what will. The Pack have been great against the spread, but even in that game earlier this season, they wouldn’t have covered this line.
ARIZONA -2.5 over L.A. Rams
The Cards won big in L.A. earlier this season and have the players to give the top-loaded Rams fits. While this rematch might be closer, the hosts should cover this small spread.
Last week: 6-8
This season: 85-107-1
