NFL MOCK DRAFT: Jags take Neal while four QBs get taken in the first round

The Super Bowl is in the books and the draft is slightly more than two months away (April 28-30). With no clear-cut top pick at this point, there’s no real telling which way the rebuilding Jaguars will go.

1. Jacksonville

Evan Neal, OT, Alabama

Jags need to protect last year’s top pick, Trevor Lawrence, with the draft’s most well-rounded tackle.

2. Detroit

Aiden Hutchinson, DE, Michigan

Lions stay in the state to take an elite pass rusher who was up for the Heisman – a real rarity.

3. Houston

Kayvon Thibodeaux, DE, Oregon

A freak athlete that is rated by some as the draft’s top prospect and will immediately upgrade the Texans defence.

4. N.Y. Jets

Kyle Hamilton, S, Notre Dame

He’s the best player available – maybe in the whole draft – and would be a great addition to the Jets defence.

5. N.Y Giants

Ikem Ekwonu, OT, North Carolina St.

An elite run blocker, Ekonwu would be an immediate upgrade for a Giants team that needs help on the line.

6. Carolina

Charles Cross, OT, Mississippi State

QB is a big question mark for the Panthers, but it is probably a better investment to build a line first.

7. N.Y. Giants

George Karlaftis, DE, Purdue

After addressing one side of their line, the Giants can take a high-end pass rusher to bulk up the other.

8. Atlanta

Derek Stingley Jr., CB, LSU

Pairing the uber-athletic Stingley with A.J. Terrell would cause a lot of headaches for opposing passing games.

9. Denver

David Ojabo, DE, Michigan

They could certainly consider a QB, but we think a trade is more likely. The quick Ojabo would fill Von Miller’s old spot.

10. N.Y. Jets

Garrett Wilson, WR, Ohio State

A Wilson-to-Wilson connection with QB Zach would be something for the Jets to build on.

11. Washington

Malik Willis, QB, Liberty

He’ll need a year to develop, but Willis has the potential to be a great dual-threat quarterback.

12. Minnesota

Ahmad Gardner, CB, Cincinnati

The man they call Sauce could be the first CB taken after a dominant season at Cincinnati.

13. Cleveland

Treylon Burks, WR, Arkansas

The Browns are in dire need of some help at receiver and will pretty much have their pick from this strong WR class.

14. Baltimore

Jermaine Johnson II, DE, Florida State

The impressive Johnson could easily rise into the top 10, but here the Ravens get some great pass-rush help.

15. Philadelphia

Tyler Linderbaum, C, Iowa

Another player hurt by positional value, Linderbaum has the talent to be a top-10 pick.

16. Philadelphia

Drake London, WR, USC

A big, physical receiver, London would be an excellent complementary weapon to DeVonta Smith.

17. L.A. Chargers

Jordan Davis, DT, Georgia

Stopping the run was a big problem for the Chargers last year and the mountainous Davis would help solve that.

18. New Orleans

Matt Corral, QB, Ole Miss

Jameis Winston is a free agent and Taysom Hill isn’t a long-term answer. It’s time for a change in New Orleans.

19. Philadelphia

Andrew Booth Jr., CB, Clemson

With their third pick of the first round, the Eagles add some youth to their aging secondary.

20. Pittsburgh

Kenny Pickett, QB, Pittsburgh

Unless the Steelers make a trade, quarterback is their biggest need to address this off-season.

21. New England

Nakobe Dean, LB, Georgia

Considered a bit undersized, but Dean more than makes up for it with his overall talents.

22. Las Vegas

Trent McDuffie, CB, Washington

Getting a deep-threat WR is also in play after Henry Ruggs getting cut, but McDuffie comes with a very high ceiling.

23. Arizona

Jameson Williams, WR, Alabama

After watching the Cards struggle when DeAndre Hopkins went down, it’s apparently some depth is needed.

24. Dallas

Devin Lloyd, LB, Utah

With defensive rookie of the year Micah Parsons playing all over the defence, the Cowboys could use a pure LB like Lloyd.

25. Buffalo

Jahan Dotson, WR, Penn State

Dotson has the talent and sure hands to easily replace the aging Cole Beasley and Emmanuel Sanders.

26. Tennessee

Trevor Penning, OT, Northern Iowa

After the Isaiah Wilson bust of 2020, the Titans could still use improvement at their tackle spots.

27. Tampa Bay

Chris Olave, WR, Ohio State

With Chris Godwin recovering from a torn ACL and a free agent, the Bucs need to find a replacement.

28. Green Bay

Travon Walker, DE, Georgia

He’s big and versatile, which could see the Bulldogs pass rusher rise much higher than this.

29. Miami

Zion Johnson, OL, Boston College

We might see the only RB of the round taken here, but the Dolphins O-line also needs work.

30. Kansas City

Daxton Hill, S, Michigan

Tyrann Mathieu is a pending free agent, but even if he returns Hill would be a complementary piece.

31. Cincinnati

Kenyon Green, OG, Texas A&M

If the Bengals don’t get some protection for Joe Burrow, he might not survive another season.

32. Detroit

Desmond Ridder, QB, Cincinnati

Jared Goff isn’t a long-term option, but he could hold the fort for another season while Ridder develops.
