NFL WEEK 11 PICKS: How in the world are the Minnesota Vikings home underdogs?

The lines are from covers.com and the home teams are in CAPs.

GREEN BAY -3 over Tennessee

Derrick Henry throwing a touchdown pass at Lambeau Field is definitely not something I had on my BINGO card.

BALTIMORE -12 over Carolina

Baker Mayfield is back under centre for the Panthers, which isn’t the best news for Carolina backers. The Ravens come off their bye and should have something cooked up for an offence that has grown a bit stagnant.

Cleveland +8.5 over BUFFALO

With something called “thundersnow” in the forecast and the game possibly being moved to Detroit, this is a hard game to size up. The Bills have hit a bit of a slump and Josh Allen’s elbow is a concern. There are also injuries on defence that give us cause for pause when spotting more than a touchdown.

INDIANAPOLIS +6.5 over Philadelphia

The Eagles had a hard landing against Washington on Monday night and will be looking to get back on track after their first loss. The problem is that new Colts coach Jeff Saturday made some common sense moves and has the team motivated. It won’t be a blowout for Philly on the road.

HOUSTON +3.5 over Washington

Was that win on Monday to end the Eagles’ undefeated run the Commanders’ Super Bowl? It was an emotional win and that usually leads to a letdown the following week.

NEW ENGLAND -3 over New York Jets

As hot as the Jets and their defence had been coming into their bye, the Pats have always had their number and Zach Wilson has been especially bad against Bill Belichick.

Detroit +3 over NEW YORK GIANTS

Who is looking ahead to Thanksgiving more? The Lions, who host the Bills, or the Giants, who visit the Cowboys? Either way, both teams have a lot on their plate, so we’ll take the field goal and hope for a close one.

NEW ORLEANS -4.5 over Los Angeles Rams

Matt Stafford should be back from his concussion, but he’ll be missing Cooper Kupp, who was essentially the Rams’ entire offence this season. The Saints’ defence has started coming together, too, so as long as Andy Dalton keeps things steady (no sure thing), the hosts have a good shot at covering.

Chicago +3 over ATLANTA

While the Justin Fields experience will eventually come an end, it’s hard to think it will be this week. Atlanta’s defence has been among the league’s worst and there’s just no one that can keep up with Fields right now.

DENVER -2.5 over Las Vegas

Can the Raiders continue to sink lower? There seems to be some real turmoil going on behind the scenes and it has been manifesting on the field. At the very least, Denver has been playing some very tidy defence that will cause headaches.

MINNESOTA +1.5 over Dallas

Even as a Cowboys fan, it’s hard to understand how they are favoured on the road against a Vikings team with just one loss this season. Dallas totally blew it in Green Bay last week and will look to make up for that, but it’s not going to be easy with U.S. Thanksgiving looming.

PITTSBURGH +4 over Cincinnati

The return of T.J. Watt is massive for the Steelers. He wreaked havoc when these teams met earlier this season and should be in Joe Burrow’s face often once again. This figures to be a low-scoring game, so we’ll take the points with the home dog.

LOS ANGELES CHARGERS +6.5 over Kansas City

L.A. has a chance at getting their top two WRs back from injury for this one and it couldn’t come at a better time. The past three games between these teams have been decided by six points or fewer and the hosts will not want to get embarrassed by their rival in prime time.

San Francisco -8 over Arizona at Mexico City

The 49ers are getting healthier and that’s bad news for the rest of the NFC West. While Colt McCoy is a fine deputy for Kyler Murray, the Niners should have no problem running all over the Cards.

Last week: 10-4

This season: 71-75-4
