NFL WEEK 17 PICKS: 49ers are ready to roll over the Raiders

The lines are from covers.com and the home teams are in CAPs.

Dallas -11 over TENNESSEE

The Cowboys may have won and covered, but they will seriously need to step it up against teams that are actually trying and at full strength. Dak Prescott’s turnover woes will be Dallas’ end.

TAMPA BAY -3 over Carolina

Something isn’t right down in Tampa, but the Bucs have shown an ability to turn it on late in games, which makes this intriguing. The Cats, however, lost their top corner last week and that’s bad news against Tom Brady.

WASHINGTON -2 over Cleveland

The hosts turn back to Carson Wentz this week, but the bigger advantage here is the Washington run game against the Browns’ poor run defence. Both defences are some solid units so we’d take the under, too.

PHILADELPIA -6.5 over New Orleans

We already know that the Eagles’ roster is much better than the Saints’ but a good question is if Gardner Minshew is a better QB than Andy Dalton. The answer to that is at least that it’s a draw, which is bad news for New Orleans here.

Arizona +3.5 over ATLANTA

Desmond Ridder vs. Colt McCoy is a matchup that nobody asked for. While the Falcons still have a longshot at the playoffs, their pass defence will not hold up against DeAndre Hopkins.

HOUSTON +4.5 over Jacksonville

The Texans have been playing tough down the stretch, even without some key pieces. This one is meaningless for the Jags, who should still put in a good effort, but not waste too many bullets with the big game against Tennessee next week.

Chicago +6 over DETROIT

One point separated these teams back in Week 10, in one of Justin Fields’ best games. The Bears aren’t about to let a division rival try to gate-crash the playoffs and should put in a good effort to hold them back.

Miami +3 over NEW ENGLAND

No Tua Tagovailoa in this one and we actually hope that there is no rush at all to get him back after likely his third concussion this season. But even with Teddy Bridgewater at the helm, the Dolphins are still our pick over the bang-average Pats.

Denver +13 over KANSAS CITY

Patrick Mahomes has never lost to the Broncos and that’s not going to change here. But the Chiefs won by just six points a few weeks ago in Denver and the Broncos could see a new-coach bump this week after sacking the overmatched Nathaniel Hackett.

NEW YORK GIANTS -6 over Indianapolis

Nick Foles looked like a player that the game has completely passed by, opting to sail some deep throws instead of standing in the pocket – which we totally understand. The Giants will put him under pressure again this week and results should be the same.

New York Jets -1.5 over SEATTLE

Two big factors in this one for us: The return of Mike White should give a boost to the Jets offence after Zach Wilson’s terrible performances and Robert Saleh’s knowledge of the Seahawks from his time leading the 49ers defence.

San Francisco -6 over LAS VEGAS

Benched Derek Carr for Jarrett Stidham when the 49ers are coming to town is not going to end well for the Raiders. This one could get ugly.

Minnesota +3.5 over GREEN BAY

Don’t look now, but here come the Packers. With three wins in a row, they’re getting hot at the right time. But, the Vikings keep on pulling out close games and should be getting tired of being labeled the worst 12-win team ever.

L.A. CHARGERS -6.5 over L.A. Rams

The Battle of Los Angeles should hardly be one with much fanfare. The Chargers clinched their playoff spot last week and should look to build off that. One thing that we were interested to learn, though, is that the Chargers have the fifth-best record against the spread this season at 9-5-1.

Pittsburgh +3 over BALTIMORE

Whenever these rivals meet, it’s a close one. With it looking like Tyler Huntley getting another start for the Ravens, we’ll back the Steelers with the points and we should at least get a push in the end.

Buffalo -1 over CINCINNATI

The Bengals are starting to get banged up and that’s bad news for a potential playoff run. The Bills have issues of their own, but have an advantage in both special teams and coaching, which we’ll ride with on Monday night.

Last week: 8-8

This season: 115-118-7
