NFL MOCK DRAFT: Four QBs go in the top 10, but none are first overall

The Bears hold the first pick – for now. Chicago is open to dealing the pick with a many QB-needy reportedly interested in moving up to the top spot.

1. Chicago

Jalen Carter, DT, Georgia

As long as they hold the top pick, it’s between Carter and Will Anderson for the Bears at No 1.

2. Houston

Bryce Young, QB, Alabama

Might need to move up a spot to guarantee getting this year’s Heisman Award winner.

3. Arizona

Will Anderson Jr., DE, Alabama

This year’s top edge rusher should give an instant boost to the Cards defence.

4. Indianapolis

Will Levis, QB, Kentucky

A big-yet-mobile QB, Levis has a high ceiling but questions on if he can star in the pros.

5. Seattle

Tyree Wilson, DE, Texas Tech

May be tempted to take a young, stud QB, but upgrading the defensive line is a must.

6. Detroit

Devon Witherspoon, CB, Illinois

Pairing him with previous top-10 corner Jeffrey Okudah would help the Lions take another leap.

7. Las Vegas

C.J. Stroud, QB, Ohio State

Derek Carr is out the door and Stroud has the potential to be the first pick in the draft.

8. Atlanta

Myles Murphy, DE, Clemson

Once again the Falcons have a big need for a pass rusher and shouldn’t overlook it.

9. Carolina

Anthony Richardson, QB, Florida

The Panthers need to break the cycle of taking on other teams’ retreads and develop their own QB.

10. Philadelphia

Joey Porter Jr., CB, Penn State

James Bradberry is a free agent and Darius Slay isn’t getting any younger.

11. Tennessee

Paris Johnson Jr., OT, Ohio State

With Taylor Lewan getting cut, the Titans will need another anchor on their offensive line.

12. Houston

Quentin Johnston, WR, TCU

With Brandin Cooks likely leaving, the Texans should aim to get a top WR prospect for their new QB.

13. N.Y. Jets

Peter Skoronski, OT, Northwestern

Skornoski could be the top lineman taken and has the versatility to play guard if needed.

14. New England

Brian Branch, S, Alabama

The Pats have a bunch of holes to fill and this versatile DB from Alabama is right up their alley.

15. Green Bay

Michael Mayer, TE, Notre Dame

Mayer is a lot more well-rounded than most tight ends that get taken in the first round.

16. Washington

Christian Gonzalez, CB, Oregon

The Commanders may be looking at upgrading their O-line, but their pass defence needs a lot of work.

17. Pittsburgh

Broderick Jones, OT, Georgia

Getting Kenny Pickett more time in the pocket would help his development in Year 2.

18. Detroit

Luke Van Ness, DE, Iowa

Looked great at the Senior Bowl and would bolster the Lions rising defence.

19. Tampa Bay

Drew Sanders, LB, Arkansas

Lavonte David’s pending free agency creates a big hole in the middle of the Bucs defence.

20. Seattle

Jordan Addison, WR, USC

Would Seattle consider another pass rusher in the first round? Maybe, but Addison is a great grab.

21. L.A. Chargers

Jalin Hyatt, WR, Tennessee

Keenan Allen is a potential cap casualty, which makes getting a receiving threat a big priority.

22. Baltimore

Cam Smith, CB, South Carolina

Will look long and hard at an RB or WR, but getting an outside corner is another priority.

23. Minnesota

Kelee Ringo, CB, Georgia

The Vikings defence allowed the second-most yards in the league last year and Patrick Peterson is a FA.

24. Jacksonville

Calijah Kancey, DT, Pittsburgh

The Jags have a lot of free agents on the defensive line and Kancey has a chance to go in the top 10.

25. New York Giants

Jaxon Smith-Njiba, WR, Ohio State

The Giants got by with a no-name receiving corps last year and could use some more pedigree.

26. Dallas

Zay Flowers, WR, Boston College

Cowboys’ need for a weapon opposite CeeDee Lamb become very apparent as the season progressed.

27. Buffalo

Bijan Robinson, RB, Texas

He’s a potential top-10 pick, but could slide given teams’ reluctance to invest in running backs.

28. Cincinnati

Deonte Banks, CB, Maryland

After addressing their offensive line last year, their pass defence should be this year’s focus.

29. New Orleans

Tuli Tuipulotu, DT, USC

Strong and agile, Tuipulotu has drawn comparisons to Saints great Cam Jordan.

30. Philadelphia

Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, Alabama

Miles Sanders is a free agent, so either the Eagles will pay up or could take a replacement here.

31. Kansas City

Bryan Bresee, DT, Clemson

Getting depth on their defensive front will help ease the burden on Chris Jones.
