With the tight end position being so top-heavy in fantasy, if you miss out on the top dogs, you could be left scrambling with the many boom-or-bust options at the position.
1. Travis Kelce, KC
1338 receiving yards,12 TDs, 263.3 points.
Kelce is in a league of his own: The gap between Kelce and TE2 was bigger than the gap from TE2 to TE22.
2. Mark Andrews, BAL
847 receiving yards, 5 TDs, 154 points.
Before a Week 7 injury, he was averaging just one point per game less than Kelce.
3. T.J. Hockenson, MIN
914 receiving yards, 6 TDs, 174.4 points.
From Week 8 on, after joining Minnesota, Hockenson was TE2 and led the position in receptions while tying for first in targets.
4. George Kittle, SF
765 receiving yards, 11 TDs, 172.5 points.
Consistency is not Kittle’s friend, with five weeks outside of the top 20 TEs and six weeks in the top 5.
5. Darren Waller, NYG
388 receiving yards, 3 TDs, 70.8 points.
When he’s healthy – he hasn’t been for two years – he’s one of the most productive TEs and will be his new team’s top target.
6. Dallas Goedert, PHI
702 receiving yards, 3 TDs, 115.7 points.
Not exactly a goal-line threat with just eight endzone targets over the past three seasons and nine inside the 10-yard line.
7. Kyle Pitts, ATL
356 receiving yards, 2 TDs, 61.6 points.
After a record-setting rookie season, Pitts took a massive step back and was one of the biggest disappointments in fantasy last year.
8. Pat Freiermuth, PIT
732 receiving yards, 2 TDs, 116.7 points.
Was sixth among TEs in targets per game and his 98 targets ranked him second overall on the Steelers.
9. Evan Engram, JAX
766 receiving yards, 4 TDs, 140.4 points.
Cashed in after his first season in Jacksonville after racking up career highs in receptions and yardage.
10. David Njoku, CLE
628 receiving yards, 4 TDs, 115 points.
Set career marks in receptions and yards per game, but his ceiling likely is as a low-end TE1.
11. Chigoziem Okonkwo, TEN
450 receiving yards, 3 TDs, 81.2 points.
After growing into the offence in the second half of the season, this sophomore has some definite upside.
12. Tyler Higbee, LAR
620 receiving yards, 3 TDs, 116 points.
Despite finishing fourth among TEs in targets and fifth in receptions, Higbee ranked TE10 in fantasy points.
13. Gerald Everett, LAC
555 receiving yards, 4 TDs, 110.5 points.
Has some good athletic potential but has failed to live up to it and is likely the fourth option in the Chargers attack.
14. Dalton Schultz, HOU
577 receiving yards, 5 TDs, 116.2 points.
His cross-state move from Dallas puts him in a similar role, but on a much worse offence.
15. Dalton Kincaid, BUF
2023 rookie
The first TE taken in this year’s draft, Kincaid profiles as a solid receiver and should have a good role in the Bills offence.
16. Cole Kmet, CHI
544 receiving yards, 7 TDs, 122.3 points.
Led the Bears in every receiving category, but will lose out on targets to new WR DJ Moore.
17. Juwan Johnson, NO
508 receiving yards, 7 TDs, 113.8 points.
After breaking out in his third season, Johnson now has an opportunity to finish in the top 10 among TEs.
18. Sam LaPorta, DET
2023 rookie
The second-rounder has some weekly boom/bust potential in an offence light on receiving depth.
19. Jake Ferguson, DAL
174 receiving yards, 2 TDs, 38.9 points.
He’s the favourite to step into Schultz’s role in the Cowboys offence, which could mean decent numbers.
20. Hunter Henry, NE
509 receiving yards, 2 TDs, 83.4 points.
Saw his fantasy numbers drop after scoring nine TDs in 2021, but is a decent bounce-back candidate.
21. Irv Smith Jr., CIN
182 receiving yards, 2 TDs, 42.7 points.
Injuries derailed his time in Minnesota, but looks to slot in as the starting TE of a high-end offence.
22. Hayden Hurst, CAR
414 receiving yards, 2 TDs, 79.4 points.
Should be among the Panthers’ leaders in targets after coming over from Cincinnati.
23. Greg Dulcich, DEN
411 receiving yards, 2 TDs, 69.6 points.
Was a solid waiver-wire add last year after missing the beginning of the season with a hamstring injury.
24. Luke Musgrave, GB
2023 rookie
The rookie has some boom/bust potential in a young offence with a lot of question marks.
25. Taysom Hill, NO
240 passing yards 2 passing TDs, 575 rushing yards, 77 receiving yards, 9 TDs, 141.3 points.
Despite being listed as a tight end, Hill ran zero routes lined up as an in-line TE last year.
THE NEXT FIVE
Dawson Knox, BUF
517 receiving yards, 6 TDs, 111.7 points.
Cade Otton, TB
391 receiving yards, 2 TDs, 72.1 points.
Trey McBride, ARI
265 receiving yards, 1 TD, 47 points.
Mike Gesicki, NE
362 receiving yards, 82.2 points.
Logan Thomas, WAS
323 receiving yards, 1 TD, 57.8 points.
