FANTASY FOOTBALL: Daniel Jones’ second-half heroics a boon for managers

The best and the worst of fantasy football in NFL Week 2.

STUDS

Daniel Jones, QB, NYG

321 passing yards, 2 passing TD, 1 INT, 59 rushing yards, 1 TD, 31.7 points.

Led the Giants to a thrilling win after being shutout in the first half against the lowly Cardinals.

Brian Robinson Jr., RB, WAS

87 rushing yards, 42 receiving yards, 2 TDs, 1 2-point conversion, 27.9 points.

Another workman-like performance from Robinson, who got 20 touches in the win.

Kyren Williams, RB, LAR

52 rushing yards, 48 receiving yards, 2 TDs, 25 points.

With Cam Akers scratched and reportedly on the trade block, Williams looks like a legit fantasy RB option.

Keenan Allen, WR, LAC

111 receiving yards, 2 TDs, 27.1 points.

The Chargers veteran remains one of the league’s top pass-catching options.

Mike Evans, WR, TB

171 receiving yards, 1 TD, 26.1 points.

Needed just six catches to rack up this total, which included a 70-yard catch-and-run TD.

Mark Andrews, TE, BAL

45 receiving yards, 1 TD, 13 points.

After missing Week 1 with an injury, Andrews’ season debut was a strong one and led the Ravens with eight targets.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers DEF

17 points allowed, 6 sacks, 2 INTs, 1 TD, 17 points.

The Chicago Bears are shaping up to be a team to target for fantasy DEFs.

Nick Folk, K, TEN

5 FGs, 18 points.

DUDS

Trevor Lawrence, QB, JAX

216 passing yards, 26 rushing yards, 1 fumble lost, 9.2 points.

Completed just 53% of his 41 passes in an impotent loss to the Chiefs.

Breece Hall, RB, NYJ

9 rushing yards, 0.9 points.

Despite this low total, Hall was still the better running back of the Jets duo.

Dalvin Cook, RB, NYJ

7 rushing yards, 5 receiving yards, 1 fumble lost, -0.3 points.

The Jets offence couldn’t move the ball at all against the Cowboys defence.

Elijah Mitchell, RB, SF

0 carries, 0 points.

Christian McCaffrey was the only 49ers running back to even get a touch against the Rams.

Ja’Marr Chase, WR, CIN

31 receiving yards, 5.6 points.

With Joe Burrow ailing, the Bengals passing game has yet to find its rhythm.

Zay Jones, WR, JAX

0 receptions, 0 points.

Came up empty on his six targets after a solid 14-points performance in Week 1.

Kyle Pitts, TE, ATL

15 receiving yards 2.5 points.

Once again, it was the pits from the tight end as the Falcons passing game remains iffy.

I HOPE YOU STARTED

After scoring just 0.98 fantasy points in Week 1, Joshua Dobbs exploded for the Cardinals in their home opener. Dobbs cut down on the turnovers this time and racked up 25.2 points, which was the fourth-highest among QBs heading into the Sunday nighter.

-So it looks like maybe Week 1 wasn’t a fluke for Puka Nacua. The Rams fifth-round rookie did it again this week, racking up 147 yards on 15 receptions. In fact, he became the first player in NFL history with 10+ catches and 100+ yards in his first two career games.
