Things are going from bad to worse in Buffalo.
As if the Bills’ season needed some more turmoil, linebacker Von Miller turned himself in to Dallas police after an arrest warrant was issued.
ABC affiliate WFAA reports that Miller’s longtime girlfriend is accusing him of assaulting her at their home in Dallas on Wednesday morning.
Dallas police confirmed that the 34-year-old Miller surrendered to police in the suburb of Glenn Heights to face a charge of third-degree felony assault of a pregnant woman, which is punishable by two to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine, The Associated Press reported.
This is not the first time Miller has been in hot water with the law. In 2001, he was investigated but was not charged.
The Bills are currently on their bye week and coming off a 37-34 overtime loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
The franchise has yet to comment on the reports, but the star defender could potentially end up on the NFL’s commissioner exempt list, as many players under investigation for domestic violence have over the past few years.
The team has greatly disappointed this season with a record of 6-6 and is in danger of missing the playoffs despite MVP-calibre play from quarterback Josh Allen.
Buffalo fired its offensive co-ordinator two weeks ago after another gutting loss, which seem to be par for the course for the popular pre-season Super Bowl pick.
