Jake Paul to fight Mike Tyson in live-streamed boxing match on Netflix

The Problem Child looks to have trouble coming his way in the form the Baddest Man on the Planet.

Yes, in a boxing dream match, Jake Paul will take on Mike Tyson – and it’ll be live on Netflix.

On Thursday, the streaming company announced the fight will take place on July 20 at AT&T Stadium, the home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys.

With such a big age gap between the two combatants – Paul is 27, Tyson will be 58 by the time the bell rings – the fight is expected to be an exhibition matchup.

Tyson, the former world heavyweight champion, retired as a professional boxer after a loss to Kevin McBride in 2005.

He hasn’t laced up the gloves for a fight since an exhibition bout against Roy Jones Jr. on Nov. 28, 2020.

On that same card, Paul fought and defeated former NBA player Nate Robinson with a vicious second-round knockout.

Paul’s star has been on the rise in the ring, slowly winning over the respect of his peers.

After becoming famous through social media and his YouTube channel with brother Logan Paul, Jake set out to prove himself in the ring by taking on increasingly difficult opponents.

“He’s grown significantly as a boxer over the years, so it will be a lot of fun to see what the will and ambition of a ‘kid’ can do with the experience and aptitude of a GOAT,” Tyson said of Paul in a statement. “It’s a full-circle moment that will be beyond thrilling to watch, as I started him on his boxing journey on the undercard of my fight with Roy Jones, and now I plan to finish him.”

Paul is known for being able to make a spectacle out of his events. He has taken on and defeated several veteran MMA stars – Ben Askren, Anderson Silva, Nate Diaz and Tyron Woodley twice – in the boxing ring. He has a 9-1 record as pro, with his lone loss coming against Tommy Fury – brother of heavyweight champ Tyson Fury – by split decision in Feb. 2023.

Paul posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) that the fight against Tyson will be at heavyweight, along with a video of Tyson in training sent from his coach, showing the veteran hasn’t lost a step.

“He’s the greatest heavyweight of all time…the most vicious KO artist ever. But I’m younger, I’m faster and I’m going to be working my ass off to get stronger.

“A member of my team sent me this video that Mike’s coach put up two weeks ago and asked me if I’m sure that I want to do this…yes, yes I do. Heavyweight.”

Tyson has remained in the spotlight since his retirement from boxing. He has appeared in several TV series and movies, including a famous cameo in 2009’s The Hangover, in which he takes a comedic turn and knocks out a main character while air-drumming to Phil Collins’ In the Air Tonight.
