Blue Jays fan goes viral after taking Bo Bichette foul ball off her forehead and not getting to keep ball

One of the first things that you’re taught when playing baseball is to keep your eye on the ball.

Blue Jays fan Liz McGuire apparently forgot that little tip.

McGuire posted on X that she was beaned by a Bo Bichette foul ball when attending a game this past weekend.

In two separate pics shared on social media, McGuire first sported a huge goose egg on her forehead, which later turned into a black eye she showed off while watching a Jays game on TV.

“It was a 110 mph bullet right off the bat. I don’t think I could’ve stopped it even if I tried,” she responded to a user expounding the dangers of being distracted at a game.

“It was so fast! I just turned away for a second! It could happen to anyone!”

And, if the pain and suffering from taking a ball hit at 110 mph wasn’t enough, she says that she didn’t even get to keep the ball.

“Hey @BlueJays I got my face mashed in by a 110mph foul off Bo Bichette’s bat. I didn’t even get the ball. I even stayed till the end of the game. Any way you can hook a girl up?” she posted on X.

When one user replied to her post asking “You got hit with it and someone took the ball from?” McGuire succinctly replied “Yep.”

Others had a few jokes about the incident to which McGuire seemed to get some laughs out of.

“Blue Jays give this woman some medical attention or a Bichette forehead autograph,” one user wrote.

Of course, this involving social media, there were some doubters about McGuire’s story. One user asked how this occurred with netting to protect fans to which she replied that it went over the mesh.

One user also simply asked for “proof,” to which McGuire candidly replied: “My face. Witnesses. The Jays medical staff. The ER I went to after.”

As of Monday afternoon, it appeared the Blue Jays had yet to reach out to McGuire. But, there was one company looking to brighten her day.

“Lots of people are tagging us here…Topps Now card?” the trading card company replied to McGuire’s post. ”Please DM us!”

Topps then followed it up by proclaiming the company had indeed created special trading cards for the fan.

“We produced exactly 110 copies, and we’re gifting them all to @lizzzzzzzzzzy” Topps posted on X. “Liz, you’re a champ!”
