We’re now seven weeks into the NFL season and while most people care about who is at the top of the league, I’d rather discuss who is at the bottom.
There’s the Carolina Panthers, who finally won their first game of the season. There’s the San Francisco 49ers, which lost that game to Carolina and are a top contender for most disappointing team with Dallas and Minnesota – are now both featuring ailing QBs.
The easy answer — and the one we’ll go with — to the question “Who is the worst team” is the lone winless squad, the Buffalo Bills. But when a team can pass the ball as surprisingly well as Ryan Fitzpatrick has recently, can they really be No. 32? Just take a look at how well the Bills performed Sunday in Baltimore. They ran out to a 24-10 lead before surrendering 24 straight points. They even pushed the overwhelmingly favoured Ravens into OT before finally losing.
So which team are the Bills? The one that built that strong lead on the road, or the one that surrendered it just as quickly? I’m betting it’s the latter more than the former, but one thing is for sure, they have shown they can cover those double-digit spreads, even against good teams.
