Well, I should have known better than to count out a battered and bruised Giants team on Thursday night. Those are the types of games that they usually get amazing performances out of their lesser-known guys in. And I’m sure that Ramses Barden and Andre Brown didn’t start for many fantasy teams, if any.
Oh well, onto the rest of Week 3’s matchups.
The lines are from 5Dimes and the home teams are in CAPS
St. Louis +9 over CHICAGO
A good contender for your survivor pool this week, the Bears have had 10 days to bounce back from their loss in Green Bay.
Tampa Bay +9.5 over DALLAS
The Bucs looked good in New York before choking it away to the Giants. Why can’t they keep it respectable against the Cowboys?
San Francisco -7 over MINNESOTA
The Vikings aren’t going to be able to hang with the 49ers, even playing in their dome.
Detroit -3.5 over TENNESSEE
The Titans could be the worst team in the league and Chris Johnson’s meltdown certainly isn’t helping.
WASHINGTON -2.5 over Cincinnati
Do you really think that RG3 is going to lose his home debut? It’s not like the Bengals are looking great this season anyway.
New York Jets -2.5 over MIAMI
Reggie Bush is the only weapon that the Dolphins have and the Jets shouldn’t have a problem containing him.
Kansas City +10 over NEW ORLEANS
This game is going to be an absolute shootout, but how is one winless team giving 10 points to another winless team?
Buffalo -2.5 over CLEVELAND
It should be another big fantasy week for C.J. Spiller and the Bills should pick up the road win.
INDIANAPOLIS -3 over Jacksonville
Andrew Luck should have a good season when he’s playing at home while the Jags are looking like a mess.
ARIZONA +3 over Philadelphia
The Eagles have won two games, but by a combined two points. The Cardinals have proven that they can hang with some good teams too, by beating the Patriots.
Atlanta +3 over SAN DIEGO
This feels like the game where the Chargers disappoint and the knives come out for Norv Turner. This is their home opener too, but it’s not even sold out.
Houston (pick) over DENVER
It’s very possible that the Texans are the second-best team in the league. If they aren’t giving any points, why wouldn’t you take them?
Pittsburgh -3.5 over OAKLAND
Oakland hasn’t looked entirely good yet and the Steelers just shut down the Jets and moved the ball easily against them.
New England +2.5 over BALTIMORE
The Pats rarely ever lose two games in a row and also usually find a way to beat the Ravens, some way, somehow.
Green Bay -3 over SEATTLE
I’m guessing that the NFL figured that this would be Matt Flynn facing his old team, only Russell Wilson took his job. Either way, the Packers bounced back nicely after their Week 1 loss and their good form should continue.
This week: 0-1
Last week: 8-6-2
This season: 14-17-2
