NFL Week 10 picks

The lines are from Vegas and the home teams in CAPs.

ARIZONA +6 over Seattle

This one was just another case against Thursday Night Football. Such a sloppy game with so many penalties and a couple of injuries. Getting a push thanks to a blocked extra point in garbage time pretty much sums up our feelings on this game.

New York Jets -2.5 over TAMPA BAY

The Bucs are falling apart. Already dealing with injury issues, now Jameis Winston is sidelined for two weeks and Mike Evans is suspended for jumping Marshon Lattimore last week.

INDIANAPOLIS +10 over Pittsburgh

Things are going a bit sideways in Indy, but they did fight to a road win last week. Big Ben has famously struggled on the road for the past few seasons and we like taking double digit points on a home dog.

BUFFALO +3 over New Orleans

The Bills came crashing down to earth during last week’s Thursday nighter, but let’s not forget the key to that statement: It was a Thursday nighter. The Saints are hot right now, but the Bills should be motivated to bounce back at home and keep pace in the playoff race. Having a dome team play in cold weather usually causes issues, too.

CHICAGO -5.5 over Green Bay

For the first time since 2008, the Bears are actually favoured over the Packers. Sure, it’s pretty dicey laying points with Mitchell Trubisky, but the Bears are coming off a bye and have played much better at home this season.

Minnesota -1.5 over WASHINGTON

Kirk Cousins led a gritty comeback last week, but we think this situation is ripe for a let-down game. Washington’s offensive line is still in shambles and the Vikings can take advantage of that.

Los Angeles Chargers +3.5 over JACKSONVILLE

It’s still weird seeing the Jags mentioned in marquee matchups, but this defence deserves it. With Melvin Gordon, the Chargers can use their running game to move the ball and never discount the fact that Blake Bortles may have to make a few throws for his team to win.

DETROIT -12 over Cleveland

Just because the Browns had a week off to work on some things doesn’t mean they’re going to be any good. This remains the same awful roster with the same awful coaching staff that has consistently failed to cover for the past two years. But, hey, at least Josh Gordon might return in a couple of weeks.

Cincinnati +4.5 over TENNESSEE

The Bengals were put on their back foot with A.J. Green’s ejection last week, but will be fired up to make amends this week against another AFC South squad. The Titans have been fairly pedestrian this season on both sides of the ball.

LOS ANGELES RAMS -11 over Houston

The Texans showed us how bad they can be with Tom Savage at QB last week, losing to the lowly Colts. Now, facing the high-flying Rams on the road, we could see L.A. put up close to 51 points again.

ATLANTA -3 over Dallas

The Cowboys are getting hot, but now must try to keep it up without Ezekiel Elliott, whose suspension has finally kicked in.

SAN FRANCISCO +2.5 over New York Giants

With all of the reports that coach Bob McAdoo has lost the Giants locker room and that his firing could be imminent, it’s hard to back his team not only on the road across the country, but as a favourite. Sure, the 49ers are terrible, but the Giants are too.

New England -7.5 over DENVER

The Broncos always get fired up to face the Pats, but when you don’t have even the slightest hint of competence at QB, it’s hard to think they’ll have a chance in prime time against a well-rested, Bill Belichick team.

CAROLINA -9 over Miami

Many are excited about Jay Cutler’s numbers from last week’s loss to the Raiders, but let’s just remember that the Raiders pass defence isn’t great and he padded those stats with a garbage-time TD drive. The Panthers with a healthy Luke Kuechly are hard to bet against.

Last week: 6-4-1

This season: 66-53-4
