The lines are from oddsshark.com and the home teams are in CAPs.
GREEN BAY -4 over Philadelphia
We finally got a good game on a Thursday night. I may have been wrong with the pick, but at least it was a game worth watching.
Carolina +4 over HOUSTON
This is a much bigger test for Kyle Allen than the sieve-like Cardinals defence, but he could pass it. He looked much better than Cam Newton did and was able to put the ball in his playmakers’ hands.
Tennessee +4 over ATLANTA
It’s hard to trust the Falcons this season, even with home-field advantage against an uninspiring Titans team. The loss of top defender Keanu Neal makes Atlanta’s defence even more dicey.
Cleveland +7 over BALTIMORE
The vaunted Browns are running out of time to turn it around, but have a good opportunity here. Cleveland plays the Ravens close and has the D line to possibly keep Lamar Jackson in check. This is too many points to turn down.
BUFFALO +7 over New England
Two stout defences face off in a rivalry match in which points will be at a premium. The Pats should walk away with yet another win in Buffalo, but it’ll be a tough one to pull out.
DETROIT +6.5 over Kansas City
This may be Patrick Mahomes’ first dome game in the NFL, but he’s facing a Lions team that grind out results. After the stupidity of Detroit’s Week 1 tie, they’ve won two straight against decent opponents. And with the Chiefs’ leaky defence, a backdoor cover is never out of the question.
INDIANAPOLIS -7 over Oakland
The Colts have proven to be a tough matchup despite Andrew Luck’s shock retirement while the Raiders come to town having been beaten soundly in their past two games.
L.A. Chargers -15.5 over MIAMI
Even if the Chargers take it easy on the Dolphins, they should still win handily.
Washington +3 over NEW YORK GIANTS
We’re all aboard on Danny Dimes, but it’s too early to be giving points with him, especially with the loss of Saquon Barkley. The Giants defence is still pretty bad and we could see a massive game for Washington’s rookie sensation, Terry McLaurin.
ARIZONA +5 over Seattle
The Cardinals have their fair share of problems, but haven’t looked too awful. A backdoor cover against a division rival could certainly be in order.
L.A. RAMS -9.5 over Tampa Bay
The Bucs defence simply can’t stop the pass and that’s what the Rams do best. Jared Goff is much better at home and the defence will force a turnover or two to win big.
DENVER -3 over Jacksonville
The Broncos defence hasn’t done much of anything yet, but we expect that to change against a Jags team that simply can’t run the ball. The absence of Jalen Ramsey will be felt and Denver’s offence should be able to take enough advantage of that.
Minnesota +2.5 over CHICAGO
This is a bit of a tough one, but we trust Kirk Cousins just a bit more than Mitchell Trubisky, who was aided by an awful Washington defence on Monday. This should be a low-scoring affair.
NEW ORLEANS +2.5 over Dallas
The Cowboys haven’t faced even an average defence yet and will get a stern test in New Orleans. But even without Drew Brees, taking the Saints as a home dog is just too tempting.
Cincinnati +4 over PITTSBURGH
It’s looking bad for the Steelers. Like, really bad. The offence should do better against the struggling Bengals, but we don’t know if spotting more than a field goal with Mason Rudolph is a good idea.
