The lines are from oddsshark.com and the home teams in CAPs.
Denver -1 over NEW YORK JETS
If Adam Gase isn’t fired by the end of the weekend, the Jets might actually keep him to ensure they secure the No. 1 overall pick.
CHICAGO +2.5 over Indianapolis
The switch to Nick Foles should provide a boost in morale at the very least. The Colts had a back-and-forth tilt with the Vikes and haven’t really hit the stride that was expected of them so far this season.
Cleveland +4.5 over DALLAS
The Cowboys defence has been awful, even though it has actually been lucky with drops. The offence can certainly put up points, but we can’t trust Dallas to cover more than a field goal.
HOUSTON -4 over Minnesota
After three straight games against tough matchups, the Texans finally get a bit of a break. If they lose this one to a fairly average Vikings team, they’re really in trouble.
New Orleans -4 over DETROIT
Kenny Golladay’s return helps the Lions score an upset last week, but Michael Thomas should do the same for New Orleans this week, hopefully helping Drew Brees’ game.
Arizona -3.5 over CAROLINA
Kyler Murray’s MVP hype train fell off the rails with a three-INT loss last week while the Panthers upset the Chargers. The Cards have a lot more talent and should bounce back after that loss.
Baltimore -13 over WASHINGTON
Washington QB Dwayne Haskins is already on the hotseat and top pick Chase Young is hurt. The Ravens should get rolling again after falling to the Chiefs on Monday night.
L.A. Chargers +7 over TAMPA BAY
Chris Godwin’s injury is what sways us to the take the points here. Tom Brady hasn’t exactly impressed while the Chargers defence can apply pressure on the hall of famer.
MIAMI +6.5 over Seattle
The Seahawks are obviously the more talented team, but hear me out: This is the farthest away matchup in the NFL and it’s an early kickoff; the Dolphins are well-rested after winning last Thursday night; Seattle has given up the second-most yards through three weeks in NFL history; top RB Chris Carson and star safety Jamal Adams are ailing; FitzMagic is always capable of a backdoor cover.
Jacksonville +3 over CINCINNATI
Before the season started, you would’ve thought this matchup would be an absolute dud. But with Joe Burrow looking pretty good slinging the ball and the Jags surprisingly feisty with Gardner Minshew at the helm, we should get a close one.
L.A. RAMS -13 over New York Giants
The Rams offence showed what it could do during that comeback in Buffalo which ultimately fell short. A Giants offence run by Jason Garrett without Saquon Barkley is about as bad as it gets and shouldn’t be able to keep up.
Buffalo -3 over LAS VEGAS
Thinking about going against future MVP Josh Allen? How dare you! The Raiders offence could have trouble getting star TE Darren Waller free against the Bills’ strong secondary.
New England +7 over KANSAS CITY
When was the last time that Bill Belichick was getting a touchdown from the books? He has surely had this matchup in his mind since the schedule came out and will have plenty of schemes to contain the Chiefs’ explosive offence.
SAN FRANCISCO -7 over Philadelphia
Both of these teams are losing more key players by the week, but the Niners have the depth to better deal with it. The worm is turning on Eagles QB Carson Wentz and this isn’t a good spot for him to redeem himself.
GREEN BAY -7.5 over Atlanta
The Falcons can play a little 4D chess with this one: You can’t blow a huge fourth-quarter lead if you’re the one that’s going to be trailing the far superior team.
Last week: 9-7
This season: 10-6
