GREEN BAY -3 over Tampa Bay
Aaron Rodgers vs. Tom Brady is one of those excellent matchups you rarely see with this much at stake. It’s just too bad that one has such a clear advantage. Rodgers is the league’s MVP and, while Brady and the Bucs looked fine against the Saints last week, it was mainly a product of New Orleans’ mistakes. The weather should play a factor in this one too, with temperatures around freezing and a good chance of snow, as it stands now. Sure, Brady is used to those conditions from his days in New England, but the rest of this roster might not be as used to this sort of chilly atmosphere. The Bucs have plenty of weapons to use, including a reborn Leonard “Playoff Lenny†Fournette, but we’re still seeing coach Bruce Arians fail to use them in a way compatible with Brady’s game. The Packers just put up 32 points against the top-ranked Rams defence and could be in for another huge game.
Buffalo +3 over KANSAS CITY
Even assuming that Patrick Mahomes is getting through concussion protocol after being forced from last week’s game, you also have to remember that he also suffered what looked like a foot injury and was limping pretty significantly. While the Chiefs and Ravens run different styles of offence, you can’t help but be impressed by the Bills shutting down the high-flying Ravens last week. While you can’t totally shutdown Mahomes and Co., there is hope to limiting them. Josh Allen has been fantastic and looks like he could grow into an MVP candidate and Stefon Diggs has emerged as one of the best WRs in the game. This should be a close one, coming down to the wire, so we’ll tentatively grab the points.
Last week: 3-1
