Even without projecting for draft-night trades, this should be a wild first round due to so many unknowns about prospects due to the pandemic and the affected NCAA season.
1.Jacksonville
Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson
We probably could’ve told you this would be the pick last year and there never would’ve really been a doubt.
2. New York Jets
Zach Wilson, QB, BYU
Almost as sure of a selection as Lawrence going first, Wilson takes over for the traded Darnold.
3. San Francisco
Mac Jones, QB, Alabama
While we don’t rate him this highly, some of the most reputable reports back up the Niners love for Jones.
4. Atlanta
Kyle Pitts, TE, Florida
Wouldn’t rule out the Falcons taking a QB, but Pitts rates as the best overall pass catcher in the draft.
5. Cincinnati
Ja’Marr Chase, WR, LSU
It’s 50-50 between Chase and Sewell in our books, but the Bengals have already worked on their O-line.
6. Miami
Jaylen Waddle, WR, Alabama
We won’t be all that shocked if this burner is taken before his Heisman-winning teammate, Smith.
7. Detroit
Penei Sewell, OT, Oregon
Will look to trade down, but this stud lineman will keep new QB Goff clean and provide a cornerstone LT.
8. Carolina
Justin Fields, QB, Ohio State
Several teams will look to trade up for Fields here, but the ex-Buckeyes QB would also be a good fit for Cats.
9. Denver
Micah Parsons, LB, Penn State
Wouldn’t completely rule out a QB after trade for Bridgewater, but can now look elsewhere with this pick.
10. Dallas
Patrick Surtain II, CB, Alabama
We’re certain that Surtain will be a good pro, but Cowboys could also look at Horn or trade back.
11. New York Giants
Kwity Paye, DE, Michigan
Have eyes for Smith, but have already added Golladay at WR. Paye is the type of DE the Giants would love.
12. Philadelphia
DeVonta Smith, WR, Alabama
Perhaps the most WR-needy team in the league add an excellent, though undersized, weapon.
13. Los Angeles Chargers
Rashawn Slater, OT, Northwestern
After beefing up their interior line in free agency, taking a top OT in the draft would cap off the revamp.
14. Minnesota
Christian Darrisaw, OT, Virginia Tech
Should look at both sides of the line, but the value isn’t here in terms of taking a pass rusher.
15. New England
Jaycee Horn, CB, South Carolina
QB is certainly a need, but the Pats may look at Mond or Trask in Round 2. Horn may be draft’s top CB.
16. Arizona
Alijah Vera-Tucker, OT, USC
Miss out on the draft’s top two CBs and may reach for a WR here, but getting O-line help is a need, too.
17. Las Vegas
Jamin Davis, LB, Kentucky
Signed Ngakoue to help pass rush and can now add this excellent all-around athlete, who should excel in coverage.
18. Miami
Najee Harris, RB, Alabama
We know, first-round RBs are certainly not in vogue, but Harris would bring a ton to this growing Dolphins offence.
19. Washington
Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, LB, Notre Dame
With one of the league’s best defensive lines, JOK’s athleticism and versatility could make this defence elite.
20. Chicago
Trey Lance, QB, North Dakota State
It’s unlikely that Lance will slide this far, but the Bears luck out in our mock, giving them an arm for the future.
21. Indianapolis
Teven Jenkins, OT, Oklahoma State
Retirement of Castonzo leaves a big hole on a Colts line that needs to keep Wentz clean for him to perform.
22. Tennessee
Rashod Bateman, WR, Minnesota
In terms of pass catchers, the Titans’ cupboard is bare behind A.J. Brown, making this a massive need pick.
23. New York Jets
Azeez Ojulari, OLB, Georgia
The Jets defence has holes everywhere and Ojulari has an incredibly high ceiling as a pass rusher.
24. Pittsburgh
Zaven Collins, LB, Tulsa
Offensive line is a mess, but the Steelers defence also took some big hits this off-season.
25. Jacksonville
Jaelen Phillips, DE, Miami
Past concussion concerns could see him slide, but Phillips is one of the draft’s best edge prospects.
26. Cleveland
Trevon Moehrig, S, TCU
With surprisingly few holes, the Browns could opt for some DE depth or this ball-hawking centre fielder.
27. Baltimore
Carlos Basham Jr., DE, Wake Forest
The Ravens had some key losses in pass rush this off-season and Basham is the type of smart DE the Ravens will love.
28. New Orleans
Caleb Farley, CB, Virginia Tech
Farley might be the draft’s best corner, but back surgery and a questionable injury history will see him slide.
29. Green Bay
Elijah Moore, WR, Ole Miss
A weapon for Aaron Rodgers! If the Pack don’t go with a WR, look for a corner or OL here.
30. Buffalo
Greg Newsome II, CB, Northwestern
Travis Etienne is an option for the Bills, but their pass defence took a step back last season.
31. Baltimore
Alex Leatherwood, OL, Alabama
A tough lineman could start off inside before eventually settling in as a solid RT option.
32. Tampa Bay
Christian Barmore, DT, Alabama
When you return all 22 starters on a championship team, you don’t have many holes.
