We bet that some fans who saw the ticker saying “Miami 70, Denver 20” last Sunday figured it was just a misprint.
Nope, the Dolphins offence was just that good against the Broncos.
Here are some fun stats to chew on from that epic game, which no doubt swung some fantasy matchups in Week 3.
— An all-Dolphins fantasy lineup of QB Tua Tagovailoa, RB De’Von Achane, RB Raheem Mostert, WR Tyreek Hill, WR Robbie Chosen, TE Durham Smythe, FLEX Chris Brooks, K Jason Sanders and the Dolphins defence would’ve netted a manager 187.46 fantasy points.
— Achane and Mostert became the first RB duo from the same team to each score 45-plus PPR points in the same game.
— Achane ranked as the RB5 overall heading into Week 4 despite having just nine total yards before the Week 3 blowout.
— Achane became the third rookie ever to amass 200-plus scrimmage yards and at least four TDs on fewer on than 25 touches in a game.
— With 6.58 points, backup QB Mike White outproduced Ryan Tannehill, Zach Wilson, Desmond Ridder, Daniel Jones and Sam Howell last week.
— Miami actually had a chance to score at least another three points. They took a knee on fourth-and-14 from on the Denver 27 instead of attempting a field goal with 33 seconds left in the fourth quarter.
— Despite not kicking a field goal, Sanders still put up 10 points. He was actually one of two kickers who didn’t make a FG in Week 3.
— Miami set the record for most total yards in a game with 726.
— Miami’s 1,651 yards are the most ever by a team through its first three games. Its 130 points are the second most ever through three games, trailing only the 1968 Cowboys, who had 132.
And, the Dolphins did all of this without star receiver Jaylen Waddle, who is set to return from a concussion for this week’s game in Buffalo.
NEEDING A CHARGE
While Chargers WR Mike Williams does have a reputation for being injury prone, he luckily had avoided any major ones during his career.
Unfortunately, that run of luck ran out last week when he tore his ACL against the Minnesota Vikings, ending his season.
Since Williams has been sidelined often over the last few seasons, however, we’ve seen what the Chargers offence could look like without him.
First of all, Keenan Allen is going to be just fine getting some extra attention from opposing defences. In fact, since he returned from injury in Week 11 of the 2022 season, Allen leads all WRs in PPR points per game at 21.9, ahead of both Justin Jefferson and Hill at 21.5.
Joshua Palmer should step into the starting lineup and absorb a lot of the targets originally slated for Williams, while tight ends Gerald Everett and Donald Parham Jr. get slight boosts.
L.A. even made it a point to shore up the WR position in the draft this year, taking Quentin Johnston in the first round. He’ll get his first big opportunity to show that he was worth the investment, but is seen as mostly a big-play threat – which means boom/bust for fantasy managers.

PUP CHECKUP
Two stars are eligible to come off the PUP list after this week’s games and should be closely monitored: L.A. Rams WR Cooper Kupp and Indianapolis Colts RB Jonathan Taylor.
Rams coach Sean McVay offered a rare update on Kupp this week, saying of a Week 5 return: “That’s the hope” and that he’s “progressing.”
That vagueness doesn’t do any favours for fantasy managers, but it’s what we have to work with for now.
On the other hand, Taylor was very clear about where he stands, reaffirming that he no longer wants to play for the Colts and that he appears to be ready to return. Several teams reportedly have contacted Indy about a trade, but it’s unknown if anyone has met the steep asking price that was set during the pre-season.
SIT/START
Start Daniel Jones, QB, NYG vs. SEA
The Seahawks defence is a lot closer to the Cardinals defence that Jones lit up than the Cowboys and Niners units that shut him down.
Sit Dak Prescott, QB, DAL vs. NE
The Pats have yet to allow more than 13 fantasy points to a QB and Prescott is averaging just 13.7 per game.
Start James Cook, RB, BUF vs. MIA
Miami has allowed the ninth most points to opposing RBs and Cook is in the midst of a breakout season.
Sit Rachaad White, RB, TB at NO
Continues to be inefficient with just 3.1 yards per carry and the Saints defence is no joke.
Sit Breece Hall, RB, NYJ vs. KC
If you take away his 83-yard rush against the Bills in Week 1, Hall is averaging just 2.8 YPC.
Start George Pickens, WR, PIT at HOU
As long as Diontae Johnson remains on the IR, Pickens is a fantasy starter, even against good defences.
Sit DeAndre Hopkins, WR, TEN vs. CIN
Has topped 50 yards just once this season and has been dealing with an ankle injury.
STAT CORNER
Washington Commanders QB Sam Howell is on pace to be sacked 107 times, which would break Derek Carr’s record of 76.
ADD OF THE WEEK
Tank Dell, WR, HOU
Followed up his Week 2 breakout with an even bigger game in Week 3 and should continue to see plenty of action in three-WR sets for the surprising Texans.
DROP OF THE WEEK
Kendre Miller, RB, NO
The rookie didn’t get the start ahead of veteran Tony Jones Jr. last week and now has to contend with Alvin Kamara, who is returning from suspension.
WAIVER WIRE DEFENCE
Denver Broncos DEF
Am I crazy for picking a team that just gave up 70 points? Maybe. But facing the Chicago Bears should be the cure to what ails this unit.
