The Foligno brothers may have a good sense of humour but don’t expect them to reach the “heights” of the Kelce siblings.
Minnesota’s Marcus Foligno and Chicago’s Nick Foligno were taking part in a joint interview following Wednesday night’s Wild-Blackhawks matchup when TNT host Paul Bissonnette asked if the NHLers had any interest in starting their own podcast, like NFL stars Jason and Travis.
“I love listening to you guys josh back and forth,” Bissonnette said. “Any chance you gain inspiration from the Kelce brothers and start your own podcast?”
“Nick actually brought that up one day,” Marcus responded.
“I don’t think we’re as interesting,” Nick chimed in before adding: “Neither of us is dating Taylor Swift, our wives are hotter, but …”
“That’s good, you’re not going to end up in the doghouse after this one,” Marcus said with a laugh.
When another analyst asked if this was the beginning of one of the brothers dating someone on Swift’s level of fame, Marcus said with a chuckle: “That ship sailed a long time ago.”
The Kelces have risen to fame through their all-pro play on the field while also gaining prominence and commercial success off of it – partly in thanks to their New Heights podcast.
Both Kansas City’s Travis and Philadelphia’s Jason have starred in numerous commercials recently while the Chiefs tight end hosted Saturday Night Live following last year’s Super Bowl win.
Of course, Travis Kelce has gained even more star power over the past few months thanks to his whirlwind romance with global icon Swift.
In fact, while Kelce is playing in Sunday’s Super Bowl against the San Francisco 49ers, there are bets available to be made through several online sportsbooks on whether or not he proposes to Swift after the game.
For what it’s worth, Kelce noted earlier this week that he wasn’t entirely sure that Swift would make it to the game in Las Vegas, as she will be on stage in Tokyo on Saturday as part of her Eras Tour.
As for the Foligno bros, they’re seemingly happy where they are in life, though Marcus may have the temporary edge in that department: While Nick scored the game-tying goal for the Blackhawks in the second period, it was Marcus who scored the winner in the third for the Minnesota Wild to net a 2-1 victory.
