NFL WEEK 7 PICKS: Atlanta Falcons will be the better bird to back against Seahawks

The lines are from Covers.com and the home teams are in CAPs.

Denver -2.5 over NEW ORLEANS

The Saints better hope that the extra time off will help their injury situation improve because that was one rough showing in prime time.

New England +5.5 over JACKSONVILLE

This is setup to be Doug Pederson’s last stand as the Jaguars head coach and the vibes are awful. While the Pats are going to go through some growing pains with Drake Maye now starting, asking the Jags to cover against a decent defence is too much.

ATLANTA -3 over Seattle

Even with a rest advantage, the Seahawks have too many concerning injuries to back them in an early start across the country. Kirk Cousins and Co. should continue to roll.

Cincinnati -6 over CLEVELAND

Even if it was a bit of a struggle, the Bengals got a double-digit win against the Giants last week. Even the Bengals’ pedestrian defence should have a decent day against Deshaun Watson.

BUFFALO -9.5 over Tennessee

The Titans are exactly the type of team that Josh Allen and the Bills run up the score against. In Will Levis, Tennessee has probably the worst possible facsimile of Allen and it will show in Western New York.

NEW YORK GIANTS +3.5 over Philadelphia

You can’t help but be disappointed by seeing the Eagles come off a bye to only beat the lowly Browns at home by four points. The Giants have their own issues, but won’t take their biggest rival lightly.

GREEN BAY -2.5 over Houston

With Joe Mixon back, the Texans looked amazing in blowing out the Patriots. But the Packers look locked in with Jordan Love having seemingly gotten over his knee injury. Houston is on the road for the second straight week and will have a much tougher time here.

MINNESOTA -1.5 over Detroit

The biggest stat that we’ve seen related to this game goes a little something like this: Undefeated teams of at least five games coming off a bye and playing at home are 9-0 ATS and have won by an average of 18 points. The Lions are vulnerable after last week’s emotional blowout and loss of Aidan Hutchinson to a broken leg.

INDIANAPOLIS -3.5 over Miami

Was the bye week enough for the Dolphins to get back on track? It’s hard to know but Miami is a team that just seems to lack the fundamentals and are hard to back without Tua Tagovailoa.

L.A. RAMS -6.5 over Las Vegas

The Raiders finally dumped Davante Adams, but while that may help some vibes, it won’t turn things all the way around. The Rams come off their bye and should be getting Cooper Kupp back.

WASHINGTON -8.5 over Carolina

The Commanders had a setback against the high-flying Ravens last week, but the Panthers are among the league’s worst teams. The Andy Dalton boost has already dried up, so this team is toast.

SAN FRANCISCO -1.5 over Kansas City

The Chiefs are coming off a bye, but the 49ers have had some extra prep time after playing last Thursday. Both sides are lacking some serious firepower on offence from their Super Bowl matchup, but with a true home-field advantage this time around, we’ll take the 49ers to get some revenge.

PITTSBURGH +1.5 over New York Jets

There’s a Super Bowl rematch this week and THIS is the game we get on Sunday night? This is a tricky pick since the Steelers look set to switch to Russell Wilson at QB for some reason, but coach Mike Tomlin has an excellent record as an underdog, especially at home.

Baltimore -3.5 over TAMPA BAY

Given up that extra half point doesn’t feel great, but the Ravens have been absolutely rolling after losing their first two games. Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry have been an unstoppable duo in the backfield and we don’t see the Bucs being able to slow them down.

L.A. Chargers -2.5 over ARIZONA

While Kyler Murray and the Cards offence received quite a bit of praise to start the season, they’re now ranked in the middle of the pack in DVOA. It’s going to have a tough time, too, hosting a Chargers defence that ranks third.

Last week: 7-7

This season: 42–48-2
