A startling trend for the Pens

The Pens scored a goal! In fact, they scored 3 goals! And won! Wow! Chris Osgood apparently is human after all.

Well, I’m not really that surprised that the Pens finally got on the scoreboard, it had to happen eventually right? But what I saw first and foremost was that the Pens were gritty enough to hold off the high-powered Red Wings attack late in the game to hold onto their 3-2 lead for the win. Sid the Kid even tallied his first two Cup final goals in what should be the first of many appearances.

If the Pens can duplicate their game 3 performance in game 4, then somehow take it on the road to Detroit, we might actually have a series on our hands. If Pittsburgh loses game 4 — a win isn’t a sure bet by any stretch — the series should be pronounced over and the mayor of Detroit should start planning the parade route.
